Hello
I have noticed a strange problem over the past few nights, maybe after the last update.
When playing back a recording, the picture flashes black every 5 seconds or so, with loss of audio.
The TV reports that the signal had disappeared and re-appeared again (after the picture reappears, it reports the resolution & scan rate)
Tonight we were able to play back one recording fine, then the next one behaved as if I was unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in every 5 seconds or so.
Tried another recording, same thing happened.
A few nights ago I restarted the box and all was fine again, but tonight as it was recording something we cared about I decided to really unplug the HDMI cable (from the Duo2) and plug it back in. That cured the problem.
Monday: problem, restarted - cured.
Tuesday & Wednesday: no problem at all, played back recordings all evening.
Thursday: problem, unplugged & replugged the HDMI - cured.
So its something to do with HDMI.
Restarting the box, or unplugging the HDMI cable and replugging, will cure it.
The HDMI connection path is: VU+ Duo2 >>> Yamaha AV Amp >>> Samsung TV.
HDMI CEC is switched off on the Duo2.
HDMI Auto Resolution is disabled, set to fixed 1080p/50
All "eco" settings on the TV are off - eco settings, usually, break things
Nothing weird cable-wise: standard HDMI cables, not hand-crafted by virgin maidens woven with golden silk harvested by unicorns.
Any pointers very much appreciated - its quite annoying,
At least the Duo2 is physically accessible at the moment - reaching the HDMI cable (to unplug/replug) is easy.
Cheers,
Ashley
