Hi all

I have a very strange problem where my epg data disappears.
What happens is im watching a program and press any button (ie. ok) and the box restarts, but no crash log file?
I have been using vix over a year now and im fairly confident i know how to setup epg as i have been doing it for a while now.
After i reboot the vu+ the box shows the info bar but channel doesn't show and that is on c4. I deleted epg.dat file and it seems to be ok after that. But today once again today box crashed no log files and once it reboot no epg again. Never had this problem before and sorry if it has already been asked.

Where are you downloading the Epg too for example do you have a hdd/USB installed? There is an issue with memory leak on the duo something I'm not too familiar with but I'm sure other members can explain in more detail but I think you need to set something up to orifice more memory and can't for the life of me remember what is called now...

I think it's called a swap file, I find that sometimes causes more problems then good. I use to store epg to a converted usb stick until this problem started so atm I am storing it on my hdd

Yes swap file that's it, have you tried saving Epg to internal memory to see if that makes any difference?

I have been adviced against that in the pastas you mentioned not good because of the memory issue so no

i have a swapfile in use for duo but others have said not needed,epg goes to usb on mine and not my internal hdd.also advised to use cacheflush for memory issues

I used cache flush in the past and found it crashed the box.
I haven't really had any problems for a while just this epg problem now.

only on 32 here as i had issues with epg and now think its working right but using crossepg now.

You should not save EPG to internal memory. USB or HDD.

Double check that the USB and HDD are mounted correctly.

You would always use Cross EPG Downloader for 28.2

It's mounted as ext4 and I only use crossepg, this is a really strange issue.

ext4 is the file system. My question was as to what the device was mounted as. The Hdd should be /media/hdd

In Cross EPG downloader, you need to double check where it is saving the epg to.

It is like you said media/hdd but I use to use and want to use a usb again.

Can you change the location in the EPG settings menu?

I can change it to internal or hdd atm as I have unplugged the usb
