[VU+ Duo2] Restore Settings

Hi,

I'm about to upgrade the HDD in my DUO2 from 500Gb to 4Tb.
Obviously, this means a fresh installation from scratch.

However I'd like to Backup my settings to a USB stick to make the job easier.
Is this possible?

You only need to switch over the hard drive and initialize it in the box - it wont affect the image or your settings. You may need to create a movie folder for recordings if it isn't created automatically.

Menu/Setup/ViX/Backup manager/Menu will allow you to change the backup location to a usb stick.

Those are in flash memory. Your settings and image backups will usually be stored on the hard drive unless you specify otherwise. And as ccs says you can make a settings backup to a usb stick to be on the safe side.

Can you not just image old drive to new drive then you will still have settings and any recordings.

That worked well, just had a few hic-cups setting up the network. Copied my folders eg., Classic Movies, Music Videos etc to another DUO2 across the wire before replacing the disk. Then restored to the new disk. Average restore speed 2gb/min.
