[VU+ Ultimo] Resurrecting Unable to update with software update

  • Thread starter Thread starter satnav
  • Start date Start date
Silly question..

Have you tried a reboot.. and the trying the update again a few minutes after the reboot.. ?

Hi Yes no amount of persuasion will move it as its female! Once this happens it stays like this until re-flashed M8 box is exactly the same, its random how long it works for, this time only hours other time was when I started this post a week ago.

Just wanted to say I have exactly the same problem happening with my Ultimo where I end up needing to reflash to upgrade, my Xtrend 9000 on the other hand does not have these problems.

Just wanted to say I have exactly the same problem happening with my Ultimo where I end up needing to reflash to upgrade, my Xtrend 9000 on the other hand does not have these problems.

your problem is easy to fix..

Menu > Set Up > System > Software Update :

My settings ;

Yes
1
Yes

Next 2 are optional..

Now do your online software updates as normal..

Those are exactly the settings that i have which only enable you to see and download beta updates when there available, it has no bearing on the repeated for ever request for you to try again in a few minutes!

next time it happens in telnet run:

Code:
ps | grep opkg

to see if it is indeed running a ground process

I too am now getting this problem on my Duo build 448. Output from telnet is

root@vuduo:~# ps | grep opkg
522 root 2720 S grep opkg
root@vuduo:~#

Upgraded via telnet and now all is fine on build 458
