Running Sat feeds to each room?

Is this worth doing? In the past when I renovated I always run WF100x2 to each room where tv would be to provide sat feed and aerial via multiswitch.

Going to start a new renovation in a few months and wondering if its even worth doing or best to stick with a with single aerial feed now and maybe get a new box e2 box with multiple tuners and use HDMI over Cat6 or even something like Dream Player TV on firestick / android tv.

Honestly these days we dont watch sat anyway but I dont want to not adding wiring and having something change in a few years. Looks like nothing new has come out since the last time I did renovation in terms of mutliswtich etc which was probably overkill back then (around 12 years ago)

Please share your thoughts. At a minimum I will still be doing 1 single cable going to aerial distribution for freeview

I would run two coax cables to main rooms and single coax to other rooms. As well as ethernet cables. Unicable multi switch will be better. You can then use whatever you want.

Each room will 100% at least 2xcat6, just trying to decide whether it is going to be even worth installing a sat dish these days.

Just seen quad tuner for under £130, might just be worth getting one of those and using android app to view, that way can get away with 2 sat feeds and aerial feed to that.

There’s always client mode. No sat feeds needed to other rooms.

Yeh I only want FTA, I don't want to pay for basic skyq and have no interest in paying for any additional monthly service.

Been messing around with tvheadend and nvida sheild iv got. Been able display channels and logos using andorid nicely.

One receiver has the signal wires (host), the others do not (client). The client will get bouquets, EPG etc from host and stream from the host.

As some suggestions above. We'd a minimum of a twin tuner receiver as the main receiver then the Octagon SX988 as a client box setup in OpenViX client mode using a LAN or WiFi network if you have decent Wifi around the house. Client mode caught my eye. I've been using it for several months now and worked out the "bugs" a bit. A great way to easily hook up and watch your dish without cables. Wifi makes it 100% wireless.

Initially I was stumped why I could only watch random channels on the client. The main receiver is an Osmio4k and client is a Zgemma H7.
Ahh. Read the fine print. The main receiver needs to be in standby mode. Now all channels come in just fine.

I've always had a diseqc motor control and polar mount dish. With c & ku band lnbf's. I always used the webif on my lan to stream to VLC out in the garage, etc.
When a sat. was switched, my motor actuated and dish went where it was supposed to. Such is so using client mode.
The only difference is if the main receiver was on a particular satellite when put in standby. And the client was tuned to another. Taking the main receiver out of standby returns it to where it was.
I kind of don't like that trait. But it is what it is. Openvix 6.2 or 6.3.
Also for some reason I haven't figured out is if the main receiver is shut down after having had a client connected and then rebooted. It will go the the very first satellite in a bouquet.
With the immense and thorough satellites.xml list of satellites. I've managed to make it more tolerable by trimming out satellites I will never be able to receive.

Sure wishing WOS would have been more responsive in my query of receivers with swapable multii slot tuners that function the same as the Osmio receivers do with the same or more A/V functionality.
Plus the ability to display 4:2:2 channels. Certainly not a Broadcom chipset receiver. And knowing what demod. chip was actually on the tuner. It's kind of nice to be knowledgeable of what you sell to relay to a potential customer.

Anyway. With the Osmio4k having a single DVB-S tuner. I'm not sure how client mode would actually work on a dual tuner or various lnb types such as unicable, etc..
