[VU+ Solo] samba loaded gets spinning vix

only flashed yesterday and did some messing and loaded samba i get spinning vix remote no control,this morning started from scratch again as i dont use backups.only cam used was 1.38

box flashed with apollo 108 only things loaded are ran abm,setup epg to formatted usb and swap file ,now tried 1.35aand all worked.
later i tried to see if samba was fixed as not been able to access duo but when box rebooted i get the spinning vix and box starts/freezes no control over remote,not got the chance to get logs setup.

will have to manually reflash again and not use samba until fixed.?

Samba is a fairly large and memory intensive plugin which is why we removed it from the base ViX image a very long time ago. I know I usually advise against the use of swap files but seeing as you are running a very low powered receiver try activating a swap file to see how it reacts, you should not however have need for the cache flush plugin.

i had swap file setup,dont use cacheflush thats on the duo lol,samba did work on solo and xp1000hd but not anymore so cannot access network,does that mean better box again lol

ok update reflashed then ran samba first it loaded,epg,abm but cam error did the swap file and cam installed,samba is green and active but cannot access duo to expand and mount by cifs,strange thing last light i tried samba on xp1000hd i think on apollo around 54 and it loaded and connected to duo which it had not done before also using cifs

Samba works fine on my Solo2 fresh usb install to build 109.

rebooted duo and i can now open it on the solo but back to that lovable error message again:smash:

update i have been advised not to use samba but to use nfs on all linux boxes,so i reflashed the solo again and installed nfs and now can view my duo once again :thumbsuph what a brilliant forum :thumbsup::thumbsup:
