Good afternoon chaps

I've recently purchased a brand new VU+ Solo 2 receiver from WoS and I've got it fully setup and working perfectly.

My box is running the latest Vix Helios 010 image.

Now lets get this straight from the beginning - I am a complete noob.

I know how to record the odd program but I do not know how record using series link.

At the risk of sounding stupid, how do you record using series link?

Don't judge me but, I want to record Doctors on BBC 1 that comes Monday to Friday between 13:45 to 14:15.

How do I go about doing this?

I know this question may have been asked before but I've done a search and couldn't find an exact step-by-step guide.

If any one of you kind people could show me the way, you can have my wife - she's surplus to requirements now that I got the VU Box to keep me entertained.

off the top of my head as i'm not near a receiver to check.

Green button> new search> type in doctors> scroll to the one you want and hit the record button > select auto timer. then just hit ok at every prompt until it's done.

That should see you rite.

What Pheonix says but also quicker is go to the channel and press red and scroll to the programme and press blue button for Autotimers.

You can also do this without changing channels by pressing channel up going to the channel you want and pressing EPG

How I would do it for a programme that's on Monday - Friday is go to EPG and find and highlight Doctors.. Then press the blue button for ad autotimer. Now on the first menu that comes up uncheck "only on weekday". Then press green button and on next menu don't change anything and press green button to save..

Now exit EPG and it should find Drs for every day and also subsequent weeks

Hey, Does anyone know why i cant do 'Zap & Record' on Autotimers? Do i need to setup 2 autotimers, one to zap and one to record now? I know i can set a one off to zap & record but appears i don't have the option in autotimers...

irc AT dose not support these types of timers. only ZAP or Record.

Im using Image Vix Virtusso Image Xtreme v3.0

I found a way last week which i am still testing but it seems to do the trick, it records every episode based on the description found in the epg.

This is the way I do it..

Press EPG, go to Doctors, press add auto timer, then deselect match timespan & only on weekday or weekend then press OK, this will then bring it to edit auto timer, i then go to 'require description to be unique' and then edit the values via the remote.. The two values I have listed are 'require the description the be unique' this which I believe searches all channels for the program you want e.g Sly 1HD or Sly 1 if you only want HD then select on same service, and i also change 'check for uniqueness in' which i default to title and all descriptions, this i believe reads from the EPG descriptions, if you have that episode it wont record if you do it will record it.. This so far works for me on 3 series links i have set up using this method..

Apologies for the messed up massive paragraph, pretty late and had a drink.. But it does work, so far!!
