On build 695.
Upgraded from duo this week to solo2 as wanted transcoding function
Got transcode to work HOWEVER
when accessing remotely via webif or dreamroid or vu+ android either 3g or someone elses internet
access stops and when you look on stb the vix is just spinning in the corner and there is no way to reboot except hit the power button
There is no such problem with the transcode on black hole (but rest of its awful) so deem it a vix image issue

Can we look in curing this guys as bought the box from u on this aspect.

Thanks in advance

No logs logged as it does not crash only freezes

Now the spinners show, directly after starting the stream.
Were you also recording? If so: can you try to stream while not recording?

Log was do with no recording.......

It was a simple question so that he could rule that out as a possible cause, were not mind readers and sometimes have to ask questions to aid us in our attempts to help others.

I know guys fantastic help much appreciated.

Time shift was active if this helps

Try again while Timeshift is de-activated as this in it self acts like a recording and could be the cause of your issue.

yes dont use Timeshift while streaming ( not meaning to be funny or clever just pointing out the obvious ).

LOL - other half love the timeshift feature of the vu+, but i am away so like to use my sat via remote access (used to do via slingbox-but broke) . One of us is gonna be unhappy LOL

It would be great and appreciated if fixed, (I know not end of the world)

Your help much appreciated guys thanks again

First we need to know if there are issues with transcoded streaming; if so (and this seems to be the case) we could feed VU+ with the relevant info, hoping they can improve things.

irc, solo2 or duo2 can NOT transcode a channel thats is currently showing, i.e. if box has BBC One HD on TV you will NOT beable to transcode that channel, it is bug in the driver, i have informed Vu when solo2 first came out, but again not interested in fixing it.

also, my solo2 can only transcode if it is in standby, it will not transcode whilst out of standby, but other users report theirs transcodes ok.

In that case the stream should simply not start, but the box should function as normal.

Not sure if the same limitation applies to the DUO2.

Andy,
I can transcode the same channel that is being viewed, (using zap or no zap before streaming),
Tested on vu player and dreamdroid, so may have been fixed?

Update: Streaming is still going fine with no crashes since timeshift disabled. thanks again m8s
