Apologies if I am asking this in the wrong (sub)forum, but I am newbie using a Xtrend et7500.
Having checked many forums, I am struggling to find an elegant way to stream Live tv channels
and recorded tv programs to a PC.

I have been playing around with openwebif and running VLC onthe pc, but it not the most user friendly interface.
Are there any plugins or other solutions to make this more user friendly? I have seen that dreambox using Webif and
Web-X-TV which is slightly better, but not available for ET7500:

- Are there any plugins that could make this stream experience better? Where can I find more info on what plugins are available but more importantly what each plugin does (a description)?
- could enigma-tv.com be a solution for et7500 (xtrend not mentioned on the page)
- how can you stream recorded tv to a pc from the receiver?

Apologies if these questions are in the wrong forum...

Thanks

You could try using kodi on the PC and enabling live tv then setup the simple pvr client

Thank you for your responses, gibbletts and Tkr001.

Ideally the pc interface I would like to get is similar to the interface on the tv or the receiver , because I have a pc with a remote in a different room connected to a tv screen. In such a setup, the Openwebif interface is too much computer like (the icons are too small, and too many clicks to change the channel etc..), so an interface looking like Kodi, XBMC or Mediaportal would be great. Where would I find out how to configure eg. Kodi with the et7500?

Thanks

Just expanding on gibbletts response for anyone that is wondering the same thing: Indeed Kodi (previously XBMC) is a very nice solution for streaming liveTV and recorded TV to your PC. Kodi has now even a Windows 10 app in the Windows store, so you can easily download it to a windows pc running windows 10. You just need to configure the kodi app to use a plugin to find the backend, in my case I used VU+/Enigma 2 client, with you will find after having download under "my plugins -> PVR client". You just have to specify the ip address of your backend.
