What port are you using for Openwebif? Change it to 80 and try again If accessing outside of your home network make sure the port is forwarded correctly.

I don't want to forward all PORT 80 to my sat box.
Any other ports to forward ???

Maybe the person that beta tested the transcoding (seeing it was a key part of the new image) might put up proper instructions on what worked for them in the testing period.
And how reliably it worked for them in the 2 months testing...

you need to forward port 80 - this is for access to your box
then you need to forward port 8002 - this is for the streaming part

your also need to have a fixed ip addy otherwise you need to have a ddns account set up

Ahh, this could be the answer as i'm using 8080 in webif. Will try it tonight when I get home.

As above you need to use port 80 for openwebif and 8002 for transcoding. Port forward these ports and setup a dyndns account if you do not have a fixed IP address. Not ideal using port 80 in openwebif but beyond our control as this is a vu driver issue

Please make sure that authentication in the web-if has been disabled.

has the username \ password change for the streaming option?
i can now no longer log into openwebif with the usual user\pass.
whats the new username\password for openwebif i cant see it mentioned anywhere.

i can login with no authentication but transcoding is now broke for me!

I will have to roll back vix image as i need transcoding to work, a shame.

Rob very interested in setting up a VPN but wouldn't know where to start do you have any pointers on where to start, Would this mean having to leave a PC on all the time to act as the VPN Thanks

Slight little glitches but otherwise watchable

I've changed the port and its working to a fashion. I get sound but no picture on any channel when using Vu+Player except for BBC2. I've tried it on DreamDroid and I get audio & picture using the Wondershare player. MX Player and the built in video player on my S4 don't work. If I change my video player to Wondershare in Vu+Player it works the same as DreamDroid. However, the picture doesn't fill the screen. It only uses 75% of the screen. I've checked the same channel on the tv and i'm not losing any of the picture, it just looks strange on my S4.

I've tried changing framerate and other settings but nothing changes from the above. Can you get different codecs for the Vu+Player?

Have you tried the internal player or VLC both these work fine on my S4

I've tried the internal player but I only get audio. Except for BBC2 where I get both audio & sound. Haven't tried VLC yet. I'm at the footy at the moment (SAFC for my sins) so depending on the result i'll try it later today/tomorrow.

The open vpn plugin on the box, as far as I'm aware, is only to connect to the internet via a vpn provider...

What Rob is talking about you doing, is to create a vpn for your network, and use the mobile to connect to the vpn of your network, then, you'd connect to your box as if you're on the local network...

Not something I can see the average Joe being able to accomplish...
