Hi all,had my vu solo from wos, with vix team image installed.I tried setting up last night but only as far as i could go, as i was without a sat cable from the dish.

I can access the menu options, but is there a reason why it says Loading constantly on the screen? when i first switched on it went on to starting up...thats where i started about setup.
Can i press reset button on rear, and start a fresh with the setup wizard or will this also wipe the vix image off?

The button at the back will just restart the machine, and leave all settings in tact.

Since you don't actually have a signal, the box will just display what's been left on from loading. Whilst it's "stuck" like this, have you tried using the remote?! Does the remote work? If so, it's likely it's just waiting for the signal to come to display it on screen... So, you should be fine.

Personally, I'd wait until you have a cable connected* to be able to use... If, it's still not working after you've connected a cable, then just reflash it with the latest image :)

* When connecting the cable, always ensure you fully power down the box so that no power is being sent over the cable to your lnb, as this could blow the lnb!

no it wont wipe the image, but if you press the menu button, do you see the menus, or does it stay as "loading"?

Hi Pooface, how can i get back to first screen were i input language, screen size,as i want to start a fresh again, using the setup wizard straight thro, thanks olly

Basilyoung,i can access the menu yes but loading is still going on if i exit out all menus

If you can get in to menus, then it is loaded... The screen does not change, as you have nothing connected. If you had your cable connected, it would zap to a tv channel (when you have chosen one)...

To get to the setup screen, you will either need to reflash, or reset to default (can't remember off top of head where this is, but it's in the menu somewhere)

As Poo says there is a setting at the very end of the setup menu for factory reset. It will reset the box to when you first flashed the image.

Hi all got some progress on the box,but can anyone point me to a link for setting up a dyns name as my ip changes for my vu solo,i looked at one but it charges...and im not sure how to install everything.A dummies guide would be good,as thats what i feel like at the moment. thanks olly

You need to create an account on DYDNS and than the easiest way is to check if your router has a setting to update DYDNS if not what image are you using as some have a setting in it - VIX does and its in the network menu and is pretty self explanatory.

Hi the dydns accounts you now have to pay for on there? I have Openvix on loading screen by the vix team. Thanks

No IP is the same and is still free.

do you mean the ip of the unit changes, or are you talking about your internet ip changing?? if its the units ip changing, you do not need no-ip, you need to set a static address for the unit instead, ie, disable the dhcp and set the unit address from say, 192.168.1.15 to 192.168.1.160

Right i think my internet connection is static, and not sure how to check the unit ip address to see if it changes?
Also can my ip be seen at all when the unit is connected, more for security really?
thanks olly.

if you set the unit to a static ip, as posted, thats the question resolved

if you have a static internet addy, again, no need for no-ip

as far as security goes, thats a seperate issue, the unit would need a secure password, but thats as far as i am going

Hi all think i am not far off now,but still bit confused,as I have installed ccam 2.3.0 but should there be anything in the .cfg file? I know a line has to be put in but from I have read so far there is usually lines with a # before them,I have none?
Thanks.

If you have no premium channels ie sport / movie than you will be ok

Hi all,I am installing mgcamd 1.38a but from the 4shared file I downloaded I cannot find mg_cfg or newcamd.list Inside the root folder .Has anyone a download for these to files for vu solo. I followed tut to install but it only mentions cccam so not sure how to do the same for mgcamd,as the files are missing. Thanks olly

Configuration files are not included with cams for the ViX image YOU have to provide and set these up your self. We can help you set up for a card you own in the receiver but any thing more than that is against the rules of the forum and will just end up with this thread being locked and dumped.
