Hi,

Just installed PV using the in-buit Plugin loader.

It downloaded, and auto installed. On selecting PV from the MENU button, it went into settings, having green screened once. Then went into Wizard on next boot so carried on and told it to autostart (what a fool i am).
Now it just keeps looping with Green screen, and re-startting. Cant get to menu to stop it or remove plug-in. I know I can telnet in whilst its doing this but have no idead how to stop it looping.

I took both an image and settings backup before installing.

Pls help stop the looping:mad:

FTP into your receiver and find the image backup you made. then load that onto a usb stick and go through the process of flashing the box with this backup.

i have project Valerie working fine with ViX on my Uno but you must never update it from within the application it self when ViX updates it will update PV that way.

didnt update it, didnt get chance, failed at first load.

Do you have links on how to flash from the backup pls...

flashing from a backup made with the ViX image manager is the exact same procedure as flashing from a USB stick.

oops wrong link.

also, if it keeps looping/restarting, how is it going to stay up long enough to copy off?... need to stop the autoload somehow..?

sorry i was not paying close enough attention when i posted the link. here is the correct one for the ET9000

Code:

Its the gui that's looping presumably, so doesn't affect a telnet or ftp connection

Phoenix, you are a star !!!

As looping wasnt actually rebooting box, just restarting enigma i presume, i could use Windows 7 and copy stright off. Then expanded the image onto a mem stick and followed process. Bit of a prat first as i didnt create the "ET9000" directory.... but once done... backup and working... now to try again...!

Many many thanks

sorry i could not have replied earlier as i had unexpected company. but i'm happy you got things sorted and yes as sonc stated and you subsequently found out while in a bootloop you can still use FTP and TELNET sessions on the box thus retreiving any backup images you have stored on the receiver or it's HDD if one is installed.

what i would recommend is that you change the path of the Image backup and backup manager profiles to backup to a mounted USB stick so if the worst comes to the worst you will always have the backups to hand.

any hoo. i'm well chuffed your now sorted and running once again and i hope you enjoy using your receiver as much as the rest of us do with ours.
