While watching a recording today, I suddenly got the rotating VIX symbol. Nothing too strange in itself as it does appear from time to time. However, in this case, it froze the picture/sound and continued indefinitely. The remote was ignored and eventually I had to switch off at back of the box and back on again.
When this happened, I was not using the remote or interacting with the box in any way.
After restarting, I noticed that there was an extra sound track (as well as the normal one), which I believe is a sound track for partial/poor/blind sighted, where it described the scene being shown when there was no commentary. I have not set any option for that, so it must be something to do with the crash.
I am using the same Settings that I have has for a long time now, and they are carried over each time I re-flash.
Another couple of things that *may* be of relevance: When I restarted after the crash, I noticed that another recording has started at (or very close) to the time of the crash. I also noticed the green blob (update available) was flashing - I don't know if that became active at the time of the crash, but I don't think it was flashing before the crash.
I would also appreciate some hint as to where in the settings I would find the one that I can switch off the 'extra' sound track. I have tried various System->Auto Language Selection settings but none of them seem to be the one (they were mostly None or NO anyway.)
