[VU+ Duo] Vix Media Player

hi guys

prob a really simple one, but how do i play mkv or avi files etc on my vu duo,

I have a 1tb western media usb powered 3.0 hdd

and have lots of media on there that i used to play on my boxee box (media player) i sold it now due to financial restraints and was wondering how i play media on the vu duo

i tried searching etc and have read vix media player but where is it, i checked feeds could not find it,

also do i need to set up my portable hdd in a suitable way as in mount etc,

i try to keep everything original vix dont like using third party plugins etc that much

could someone help pls

What format is the HDD in?
If you plug it in, how & where is it mounted? Blue button -> ViX -> Mount Manager

Press the filelist button on the remote (button just to the right of the menu button) Can you navigate to the movies then?

i tried to mount it, it said mount failed

it is NTFS judge, cos i have big blu ray files

is that the problem?

try installing enigma2-plugin-drivers-ntfs-3g.

ok after searching some more i got ntfs 3g from feeds installed rebooted and then plugged hdd in

and for the last four mins the blue circle in corner spinning (i use blue hd skin) and box frozen but pic (itv) still on

I don't use NTFS drives myself but there could be kernel/driver issues.
If you could back-up the drive & format it using the box so it's in EXT4 format, then copy your movies back over, it would probably be the best solution.

Hi,
I have an older version (vix 3.0). My HDD is in NTFS format and it used to work fine after installing ntfs-3g from the feeds. Now the feeds don´t seem to work, neither does a telnet session: "opkg install ntfs-3g" just gives the error "Unknown package ntfs-3g". I cannot format my harddisk to ext3/4 format, I just want to install the plugin, any ideas on how to do that? Does anyone have a link to an ipk package?

ViX 3.0 was discontinued almost two years ago and as such no longer has access to the ViX plugin feeds, if you wish to continue to use such a old, unsupported image you must source and install all your plugins manually including all dependencies they may require.

Solo2? There seems to be problems with the feed.

Are you sure that ntfs-3g is the correct and complete name? If not check with

opkg list | grep ntfs
