hello to all

would like to say big thanks for this very good and stable image and all working well.

can anyone please let me know what is the user and password for WEBIF. been trying to view on web browser but need user name and password.

unless you set it yrself

for telnet and ftp it is

password: (no passowrd just left blank)

thanks for responding to my query. when i try to view the received thru web browser by receiver ip address and port no i get a page which ask for

user name and password.

i have not set any user name and password.

this is when i try to view openwebif

Then set "Enable Http Authentication" in Open WEB-IF to "No" (as it is by default).

Im not near my box so i cant be sure of the menu layout needed, but if you go the the WebIf setup page on the receiver you can enable or disable the authentication there.

Hello people, could anyone please help with mapping my network drive on the box. I can see the box if I go to the 'Network' menu but it is not there when I go to /mnt or /media via ftp or thru the box. I can however see the internal connected hard drive and the connected usb drive.

Any help will be appreciated

Hi and thanks for a great new image!

I have an unusual fault and would appreciate any help... I cannot use web interface but it was working fine on V2.2.. if I type current static IP address of receiver I get "could not connect" error. I can FTP and TELNET into receiver fine. I also have no problem browsing the receiver through the network. I have also tried using ET9000CC but still same problem. Really can't understand what is happening here! Please help..

Please ignore earlier post.. have managed to log onto webif by putting :1601 at end of IP address. Not sure why this has changed as could just type IP address before.

Is it recommended to unplug my internal HDD before upgrade ?
Can i use backup fav channel list on the new image ?

What image are you currently using? if its VIX 2.3 155 or greater than go blue button>VIX.Backup manager and than backup your settings and it will allow you to restore on a flash but you wont need to do a new flash if on latest kernel release as you can do an update.

If your on the older kernel, you need to do a bootloader flash and than the image. You can use dreanboxedit to back up your settings and will need to also do your CFG file via FTP.

You do not need to unplug the HDD.

and the only thing i would like to backup is the channel list ! Whats the smoothest way to do that ?

No.

If you use a manual method, or a settings editor: yes.
But don't use backup-files from other backup functionalities if you come from an other image.

Use dreamboxedit, tutorial on how to do it in my signature. Its the same as sending to the box but last step is in reverse. You will need to specify a folder for the settings and I always create one on the desktop.

Need to go here and download the BL and image.

Make sure no other usb sticks connected and format the one you will be using to flash to FAT32

extract the BL and put the file called ET on the root and power down form rocker switch after shutting down and than power back up and click OK when asked.

Image flash is same as above but make sure you delete the BL folder
