Vu+ Duo 2 volume not working on the remote

I've just upgraded from a Duo to a Duo 2 had a few issues etc getting the picons working but eventually got everything working fine and i'm now running the latest VIX image. Trouble is i cannot get the volume on the remote to control the volume on the box? The red light, lights on the remote when either the vol up or down is pressed but the box does nothing?

I've gone though all the settings and cannot find anything relating to it. I've been reading through the posts on here for the last hour or so and the majority of issues is people getting the remote to control the tv which i don't want to do. I've also seen something about webif and pushing the volume up to full, which i don't understand or know if this will solve it? I'm sure this is an easy fix for anyone who knows so any pointers would be much appreciated.

Check your HDMI settings have you forwarded volume to the TV? If you had TV would change volume but try

Try this it resets the remote back to default.

Press 1 and 6 for three seconds until the LED is lit.
Press 9, 9, 6.
This will reverse the RCU into a none configured state
