I'm not sure how you are linking the Vu+ Player app and the VLC apps on your phone but in the Vu Player app the 3rd button from the left at the top of the screen lets you select the audio track!

in the vu+ app it lets you select the video player when streaming.the default player will not work if i want to stream if im not at home

so i use the vlc video player in the vuplus app

I'm also using Vu+ Player. With this a video player is required: I've tried VLC for Android, VPlayer, Daroon Player and MX Video Player (free or Pro). The VLC for Android is very much a beta and doesn't stream properly for those streams that require the SID to be specified (VLC for PC/Windows works correctly but not the Android version). Of all the android players that I've tried above, only MX Video Player has succeeded in all cases.

Not sure if this advice is relevant to your problems.
