Can someone please explain the difference between :

Timers
Autotimers
Powertimers......(this one has just appeared)

I seem to able to do everything in timers that I can do in autotimers and now powertimers appear ?

Regards

Hi,
Timer are normal timer you normally program out of the EPG for one film or episode.

AutoTimer searches through the EPG on a regular basis to find programs you like to see/record. Let´s say you like "star trek" then you can enter it there and every film or episode with "star trek" in the title will be recorded. AT can do a lot more with its settings.

PowerTimer are a new a special kind of timer. You are partly right the deep sleep and standby PowerTimer can be simulated with a normal zap timer but it is a bit more complicated. What you cannot do with the other timer are auto standby and auto deep standby. Auto standby switch to standby when you are doing nothing for a certain amount of minutes.

ciao

Any idea how to remove the powertimer option from the list ?

OK Thanks no great problem.

How would it get there ? Just interested to know !!!

It got there because that's where Andy ( the guy why codes these things ) put it. Lol.

LOL.

I meant as in it was not there yesterday. I have been playing with timers for days. The list only had timers and autotimers. Now it also has powertimers.
