last week my internet went down and the router would not connect wirelessly or through Ethernet (on BT, not infinity) was down about a week. tried restarting/switching on /off, nothing. so I decided to call customer support after an hour on the phone (tried tests, restarting etc etc) still nothing. they decided to send engineer, who came out. cut a long story short he managed to figure out that the Ethernet cable from vu+ solo2 (was on 077 openvix HD) to router was causing the problem. after changing the cable everything seemed fine.

yesterday I decided to update the box to software 080, as the box started to restart it froze (please wait until your box restarts. this may take a few minutes) and the internet went off, unplugged the cable till the internet came on and re-plugged the cable back in. all worked fine.

today I went to update to 088, started the process and the software download and the restart process began and the internet went off again & box froze again, took cable out and waited for the internet to come back and re-plugged the cable everything fine, but this time it didn't update to 088. still on 080.

am worried if I try to update again that I may brick the box & especially when the internet switches off. I've never had this issue before. at moment everything fine and network test all ok.

was wondering if there's something wrong with the receiver? defo not cable. the other option i suppose is to make the box wireless (VU+ WIFI N 300MBPS USB DONGLE FOR DUO SOLO UNO ULTIMO)??

I've had something similar happen on two occaision, not sure of the cause at this stage. Please enable logs and post log if this happens again.

to enable logs do I need to enter username and email? also I don't think it will generate a log, nothing in there, but will see.

just an update. flashing with usb stick seems to be fine and does not knock internet off

another update. just noticed on the box a new update 090 which says solo2 ethenet gig... fix, i hope this solves the issue. will need to wait till software on vix forum to flash.

another update. seems to be fixed on apollo 097. no more internet connection loss.
