No Display after bootloader update

hi mate

just to let you know that you are not alone with this problem.

my box got the same problem as your "JUST RED LIGHT NOTHING ELSE".
I have tried all the things but no go.
even taken it to UK OFFICIAL DISTRIBUTOR they could not fix it either. told me to get in touch with vuplus.
waiting for their reply.
can not find any tech.info, been at it for more then a week now.
if you do find any solution please put it up, i will do likewise.
mean time good luck.

I dont suppose you have another usb stick in your stb while tring to flash a new image or bootloader.. ??

I am sorry but i am finding it quite difficult to understand some of your posts, maybe English is not your native language ?.

I have a USB stick that i can put a SD memorycard i put the file on it and it worked to flash with ViX-2.3.153-vuduo_usb.
I also try with mu USB sticks and it workes now to flash the VU+, and i use the same files all this times, every try.
So now my box works again, dam ordeal it has been today.

I am very happy that you are now sorted although why it would not flash with the sticks previously is rather strange and i am not quite sure why it happened.

its not a power issuse paul i have check the voltages on another due about a hour ago also flashed it with same files and same flash drive no problems

I can not understand it at all, and I used the same files all this time.
And now they worked even with my USB sticks like it did before.
But am glad now

The only thing that comes to mind that might have this effect is if the usb sticks are the type with there own security/programes (as a hidden partition !) installed by the manufacturer ?? other than that im stumpted as well as to why this would happen.

Unfortunately i cant think of any thing more to do, i think there may have been a corruption due to the bootloader.

if your on image 2.3 build 153 with kernel 3.1.1 then your fine to update via Online updates from the blue button, this was a one time error that got through.

on the other hand the guy that started the topic ME still needs help if anyone has a contact at vu+ or knows anyone with details of a jtag point on the board to flash the firmware back to the nand chip am thinking maybe here ...on P703 or P704 i have a jtag device if anyone out their has recovery info
mine and khan's box have same red light no message at all clearly a corupt bootloader or bad flash
