It's fine when you first switch it on and suspect the the same if one's display remains on the same HDMI input.
When I switch inputs to DVI on my screen and then switch back, there is no picture even though the correct port is selected on the switch. If I switch ports on the switch and go back, it kicks back in. I hope CG121 can elaborate as he also confirmed the issue on his TV. (I am using a monitor.)
I've discussed the output problems with the TM boxes (and probably many others) to death and been slagged off for voicing this opinion, so I'm resigned to the fact that it appears nobody will resolve it as nobody seems to care whether the outputs do what they should or not..
One of the selling points of this box is all the outputs, so I thought at least they should've worked..
It seems 99% of beta testers use a 1 hdmi cable to 1 tv setup and that's that..
Current Bugs:
HDMI mode is unable to handshake with a TV on the fly via an HDMI switch, usually results in no (or a pink) screen..
[work around]place twin into standby, switch hdmi source and activate new source. (& vice versa)
Many are left having to recycle the power on the TV to clear down the problem caused by an invalid handshake (when the TV uses the data for a sky box to liase with the twin for example when both are left on..)
A recent test with the SkyHD box displayed a brief pink screen (HDCP error) switching from the twin but it is cleared as the box renegotiates with the TV.
RGB scart output is not standard. "RGsB s" is currently in use [sync on green] which causes many modern screens to display a green picture in RGB mode. The RGB standard for Europe is "RGB s".
When intially setting scart as an option, changing the format to RGB at the same time has no effect (remains CVBS). You have to save/exit and return to the menu to change the format (which then results in a green screen for me due to the oversight outlined above)
Scart Auto Aspect Switching doesn't work. Pin8 voltage is a permanent 12V (or 4:3) regardless of content aspect.
[forcing the aspect to 4:3 or 16:9 does change pin8 between 12 and 6 volts, so that works, but forget auto mode..]
Illogical Menu Option: If Scart aspect is set to 16:9 (pin8 = 6V) why offer "WSS on 4:3" as an option, it's pointless as the aspect is set at 16:9 (6v on pin8)
HDMI mode forces scart RGB back to CVBS mode.
It seems this box (and probably many others) are unable to allow simultaneous outputs..
For example, it is IMPOSSIBLE to have a TV connected via HDMI 1080i and a multiroom/DVDr via Scart RGB..I won't mention the component outputs as that too demonstrates the same poor control..
I appreciate this is most probably a driver/hardware issue that will never be resolved and as far as I'm concerned now I'm more than happy that they've finally managed to get pin8 to 0V when in standby...
Finally my TV switching no longer sees the twin on 24/7 so I'm a happy camper at least there
If you manage to sort the disaster that is the outputs, great, I no longer care now as I simply modified the macros I use on my touchscreen remote [to switch between viewing modes] to cater for the twins retarded outputs.
Many thanks for the latest image, a real improvement on the shite we've seen from TM for years.
