Hi there, I have tried to load Ver 3.0.204 and allot more but I am getting STARTING after loading the image and I cannot get it back. Any ideas as I have Kernal 3.1.1 loaded - wat can I do to get it back working on my VU+ Duo I have it working on one of my boxes but unable to get it to work on the second one?

Perhaps you have a clone box as they get stuck on starting with new Vix versions.

I have tried so find the solution elsewhere, but so far without any success. I live in Norway, and here it's common to subtitle foreign movies/TV-shows, which I think is a good solution compared to dubbing the audio. The problem is that when I timeshift (pause) a movie, the subs are gone when I start it again. To get back to the correct subtitle, I have to use the subs-menu, choose another language, save, then go back to choose Norwegian subs, and then all is as it should be. This is very annoying, even if I have found this workaround to use when it happens. My wife and kids on the other hand, they curse the poor Vu+...

Any final solution would be much appreciated.

I'm very surprised by this: I use subtitles all the time and have no issues whatsoever (and yes: I realise that this remark doesn't help you).

Three questions spring to my mind:
1- Is this using teletext or DVB-subtitles? Makes swapping them any difference?
2- Can you try some UK-channels (e.g. ITV) and see if behaviour is the same? It might be related to poor timing in the stream.
3- If you record an affected channel, does the same problem occur?

-1 degree west, NRK 1 HD, second sub-stream. Subs only on a few programs.
-1 degree west, Animal Planet/AP HD, Norwegian subs chosen
-1 degree west, Nat Geo Wild/NGW HD, Norwegian subs chosen

All these, and all others with multiple choices are affected. As mentioned earlier, none of the TV3-channels are affected, as they have forced subs on the native language.

Settinges from my Auto Language menu:
Audio Language selection 1: Norsk (Norwegian)
2-4 None
Prefer AC3 Yes
Prefer audio stream... Yes
Subtitle language...1 Norsk
2-4 None
Allow subtitle... All
Allow for hearing... Yes
Prefer sub for... No
Prefer DVB... No (If set to yes, I will loose subs on many channels, as they hav a DVB-service, but it seems empty)
Prefer stored by... Yes
EPG Language 1 Norsk
EPG Language 2 None

I could reproduce your problem (using AP-N/Norwegian subtitles).
I'll pass it on to our dev-team, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is a complicated issue.

Hopefully they will solve it. Older versions of VIX does work just fine.

If it turns out that this is something that is not easy/possible to fix, it would sure be nice if you could let us know. Maybe I have to find another image (if the problem is in the image), or maybe another box.

It for sure won't be easy to fix.
It turns out that in timeshift sync gets lost; after approx 3 minutes all will be fine again.
It definitely has nothing to do with your box.

Just felt like testing if the subs return if I wait a while, as you reported, but it didn't happen on any of the channels I tested on. I waited between 5-15 minutes. I had to choose subs through the sub-menu to get it back.

press the blue button then ViX and you will see all the various options like image manager / backup manager / mount manager. etc etc etc.

I have a hunch you haven't flashed Vix for some reason.

Does the splash screen on loading say Vix ?

Did you flash using a USB stick ?

To get the ViX menu the fastest way is short press blue > ViX. if its not present on the build you have update to a newer one as, 3.0-024 is a very old build and were currently on 3.0-370.
