make sure you device is not FAT32

thanks for that checked its not fat 32 it seems to happen when you change channels everything else seems ok:confused:

Check the device is actually mounted correctly and that your recording / timeshift mount points point towards the correct directory's.

hi all just had a look it seems when you have perm timeshift set to yes it says the directory/hdd/timeshift is not a ext2 ext3 ext 4 or nfs partition
make sure you have a valid partion type regards fizza

How did you setup this HDD ? did you initialize it via the image it self ?

thanks for the quick reply i did intialize the hdd via the image it pauses rewinds/records fine i have had no probs with the hdd before i put the new image on today about 4pm the wife going nuts lol she has gone to watch tv upstairs:D

as i said check the mounts via the mount manager to make sure there correct and post back

blue button > ViX > Mount Manager.

just had a quick look at mount manager it displays usb portable size 976.52gb mount /media/hdd device /dev/sda1 type vfat r/w hope this helps

hi all checked mount manager all seems ok any ideas from the experts thanks

I believe to use permanent timeshift correctly, it needs to be initialised by the stb, to ext 4 not fat 32.
In mount manager it should say ext4 not vfat.
Hope this helps.
