Using mobile phone (HTC DESIRE) as main Internet connection for the Vu+ Duo

Been contemplating ditching Virgin Media as their service is getting worse by the day, but I need the Internet for my VU+ box. I currently Ethernet to my Vm hub and as my HTC phone is WiFi, USB and Blutooth, I can't think of any easy way to make my Vu+ connect to it to use it's Internet. Does anybody know of a way around this or has done it for themselves?

ur mobile internet is sufficient enough to run the internet on vu+ just need to get wifi bridge and set it up with ur mobile

Tether using your phone and use a USB wifi adapter in the receiver.

if you root the phone you should be able to install wifi tether. then your htc will act as a wireless router to your duo usimg your mobile internet connection

Hi Chris, sorry I meant how do I make the Vu+ Duo box wireless? I currently have it "ethernetted" to my broadband router. When this goes down (as it often does) I would like to use my phone (which already has the required wifi hotspot software on it) to access the Internet. Is there a dongle of some sort? If so, how do you configure this on the Vu+ box?

apologies assumed you meant wireless. you can buy this http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk...O-SOLO-UNO-ULTIMO-ET5000-ET6000-ET9000-ET9200 and make your vu duo wireless or there is an alternative list of supported wireless dongles on the forum

Dont need to do this on the HTC just enable the hotspot and will be able to tether his phone

yes sorry first thing i did with my htc desire when i got it was to root it with cyanogen so wasnt sure if the wifi tether was on stock firmware or not. so if you pick up the above dongle for your duo and enable wifi tether and enter settings you should be sorted bunderson
