I dont have this update bug at the moment and I'm on latest Vix, however I have had it before. Can't remember what I had to do to clear it, but have a look in /tmp and see if there are some update files to delete???

I've strange issue but I don't know if it's skin related or an issue with Vix.

This afternoon the red update icon was flashing so I did the software update, 18 packages where updated.

The box (Solo 2) reboots and within a few seconds the red update icon is flashing again.
This time there are 2 packages are available to update, I select the option to see what files are updated and the screen is blank.

I perform the update and the box reboots again.
Within seconds the red update icon is flashing again and once again there are two packages to update.

I have gone through this four times now and still it keeps going around in circles.
No matter how many times I do it the red update icon continues to flash.

Any ideas?

SIMPLE CURE:-

Turn off background update checking :thumbsup:
Do manual software update checks manually approx every week or 2 weeks.
I've alway's done this since first time i had this issue a year ago.
Not a problem now and easily update box without issue UNLESS as stated by author when new image released it needs full flash.
Even when that is mentioned, i do not have backup's created, i reinstall all my stuff i manually saved on my external hd via flashfxp.
Takes 6 minutes tops to have box up and running fully.

Cheers for that, I'm going to go down that route as even after deleting the 'update.ipk' that was still in the /temp folder I'm still getting the same problem.

I assume your wanting to know how to turn background checking off?

If so:- MENU, SETUP, SYSTEM, SOFTWARE UPDATE, BACKGROUND CHECK on NO.
I just have ALLOW UNSTABLE (untested) UPDATES on yes, the rest are no

This is a great skin - but having some trouble with picon (I'm new, so no doubt something I'm doing wrong).

Using Ocram SHD picon set on USB, I can see all picons when main EPG is used. The problem is I can't see picon in Infobar or Second Infobar (I just see by iMaxxx Metrix logo). Any idea why this could be?

Hi,
I have mine on usb in picon folder, no issues at all.
Firstly make sure your on latest vix image.
If you are, remove the mymetrix plugin, reboot box and start again by redownloading plugin.
Manually download the picons and manually install them to folder named picon on usb drive:- http://enigma2.world-of-satellite.c...parent-white-noborder_2013-06-29--18-51-32.7z
Insert usb drive in rear of box and all will be well.

On this note of picons:-

Are there any picons that wil fit this skin that cover 0.8w and 30w for example as ocram ones only cover a few and would like to have picons showing on other sats.

Thanks for updating the Playback screen. Not keen on the DVR movie listing screen. Its a bit small and rhings like the disk space clash with movie titles. The full screen one was much more in keeping with the other layouts. Is there an option to reverse it out?

Hi guys, been meaning to ask for a week or so im not getting the picon showing with the movieselection with picon skin part, has any one else had this issue and if so how did you sort it? No problems with picon showing elsewhere. Picons are on usb, vix 692.

Hi Igleave, where do you keep your picons? I have the Ocram SHD picons located in media/usb/picon, and all fine on most updated vix. Hope helps.

I'm having the same issue as this and im hoping if someone can help me resolve.

Downloaded the latest SHD picons manually from Ocrams website, extracted the files from the zip folder and ftp'd them to my 'picon' folder on my USB drive which is mounted as my HDD.

Have done a hard reboot of the box, taken the USB out of the port and plugged it back in etc but still the picons do not show on the infobar, all i see is the white Metrix text where the picon should be.

The picons show up fine when i switch to another skin i.e. vix night HD, day HD etc, its just with the Metrix skin that these picons don't show. And they're defintely on my USB drive in the picon folder.

Can anybody help me out here please? Would make the skin perfect if i can just get the picons to show!

If usb is mounted as hdd then path needs to be
/XPicons/picon

If it was mounted has usb just
/picon is ok
