[VU+ Duo] software woes vu-duo+

hope i've posted this in the right way this time !!

hi there - relative newb here with zero technical sense so be gentle please !
i've had my vu-duo+ for a few months with no real problems but it's coming up now "software error enigma needs to restart" - but it doesnt .
it says pass the error log to vix but i have no idea how to do this.
i looked at 2 overnight recordings and its tried about 20 times to record each with no success .
can still get freeview channels but nothing else.
i've tried restarting the box and as said if i go to restart enigma it just sticks on the blue start up screen.
please help ???

you can upload any crash logs you have directly to this thread here or email them directly to the email address in the logs.

now seeing as you have FTP access i would advise you make a backup of any important files such as cam configs then perform a full reflash.

thanks for reply - i'll have a go using 1 of those guides even though i have no idea wtf i'm doing lol

As you're on a rather old build I suggest to make a settingsbackup (Menu --> ViX --> Backupmanager) and flash the box with build 789. You can use the restore function during the first install wizard.
Build 789 can be found here.

Are they on the same network & do you know how to use FTP to get crash logs off the box?

ive 2 timer recordings that are crashing the box as soon as i restart . cant even get into a menu .so have to wait till they're over .never tried to get crash logs and no idea how to .
sorry never had any need to do any of this before .
guess ive a bit of reading to do...

with the help of the tutorials i think i managed to reflash the box and reload my settings with a new build and all looks fine .
seems the best way to learn is to have a go yourself .

Yes i absolutely agree, if you learn these things for your self you can not only help your self in future but others too, if you however use these so called backup images always floating around you will never learn and always be reliant on others when things go wrong.
