[VU+ Solo2] Transcoding problem from build 760 onwards

Maybe using the latest plugin will help: unzip the attached file to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/TransCodingSetup and rstart GUI

I had it working, updated to latest vix build and now it is not working on phone or PC. The erro on VLC PC is "VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.1.115:8002/1:0:1:283D:7FE:2:11A0000:0:0:0:'. Check the log for details."
What I have noticed is that on my solo2 it shows up REC on the display, which I presume is recording, even though I have no recording/timeshift on.
Maybe this has something to do with it? Sometimes VLC will show it in bold on playlist yet I get no picture after a few seconds

Thanks. Gone to an older version but now webif is messed up in chrome but works fine in IE. Is there anyway to change the transcoding resolution on solo2?

Don't believe so, it can only be done on the duo2.

On the Solo2 you can only change the bitrate and the framerate.

Thanks. Seems a little daft to have a low resolution. It's fine for a mobile device but for a tablet or laptop it's way too low

At present there is a huge flaw in the Solo2 drivers. As a result of that the resolution of the transcoded stream is (or appears to be) very low.
We are awaiting a driver fix for this from VU[SUP]+[/SUP].

Hello everyone,

I'm new here on the forum and in the receiver world.
I allready passed some obstacles the past weeks, but for the moment I'm stuck on the same problem as you guys have here.

Everything was working fine, external streaming with transcoding thru port 8002. With webif port on 20443 on https, no problem!
Unfortunately at this time it doesn't work anymore.

The normal stream on port 8001 still works, but the transcoded one on port 8002 doesn't at all.
I get the same error logs in VLC: " error 502 bad gateway" also the blackbox app on ipad or other app's on android are broken.

Anyone has found a solution yet?

Rob that VU transcoding issue is there for ever.
Any chance that someone can find what VU are doing through the distributor / sales channel.
Surely the distributer / importer has access to VU to find out when a solution is due...

VU still have the nerve to say on their website that the DUO2 supports transcoding when it really never did.
They might as well say it runs without electricity !!!

Surely WOS have access to someone that can give a formal update / response....

I have also created a thread here where the transcoding feature in the DUO2 in openvix 808 is also broken. Do you think it might be related to the same driver issue or is it something else?

Since installing newer images and drivers, I have been having non stop issues with transcoding streams etc. This was one feature which got me to purchase a solo2 and now I dont use it cus I CANT

As has been stated several times: the latest you'll have to install them manually drivers do make transcoding work for the DUO2.
But you'll have to install them manually or await the next build.

Installing the drivers manually didn't work for me on build 808 is there a way to check the driver has installed correctly Thanks

No, but if you located them at the correct location, thereby overwriting the existing ones, and rebooted the box there's no way the box could hold other drivers then the ones you've installed.

BTW: In the meantime we've been working on transcoding and the Android VU-Player as well. Things look pretty good now, but you'll have to await a next release.

I think I just restarted enigma would this stop the drivers being installed correctly over rebooting the box Thanks

If you only restart E2 the new drivers will not be loaded. But they will on the next reboot.
