[VU+ Duo2] VU+ Duo2 Crashes When Trying to Access Recordings

Yes 016 is the latest public release

thanks again, sorry one last thing I promise! I currently use ccam 2.2.1 ive noticed there is a 2.30, should I be using that instead if its newer?

Ok all is good, reflashed to 017, ccam 2.3 all recordings intact! Great forum well done, donation will be made right now :)

Just to add, I've had this happen about 3 times in the last week since adding a NAS drive to my system. After exiting from the NAS drive I've had this crash happen when trying to enter using the recordings (list) button.
Only way around it I've found is to reflash, so once you're all set up again and stable, make an image backup.
You can reflash from Image Manager then and be back up and running in a couple of minutes.

Top tip that.....!

Some new debug logging has gone into build 017 to try & track down the cause of this issue.
Never had it myself on all Zeus builds with a network mount, but can ye update to build 017 & if it happens again, upload the new debug & crash logs please.

In regards to Jonathon's post, the box is trying to read from /media/autofs, and there is nothing there, so keeps crashing... I had this one before. Dunno how the box got to it?!

To resolve, init 4, edit the /etc/enigma2/settings file and edit the movie location folder back from /media/autos/ to /media/hdd/movie/, then init 3...

As for untitled, that's an Andy job :p

Thanks Pooface, but when I try and edit the settings file I don't see movie folder location

You only show a small part of your settings file.
I would expect a number of entries like

Code:
config.usage.default_path=/hdd/movie/
config.movielist.last_videodir=/hdd/movie/
config.movielist.videodirs=['/hdd/movie/', '/hdd/movie/Films/', '/hdd/movie/MM/']
config.usage.allowed_timeshift_paths=['/media/hdd/timeshift/']

Of course the specific locations depend on your set up

Only way to fix this temporary have been:
http://www.world-of-satellite.com/s...ing-recordings&p=279059&viewfull=1#post279059

Doing Mediascanner thing just after reboot and everything will work. Until next reboot have had been made.

Didnt yet tested to change:
config.movielist.last_videodir=/media/autofs/

to

config.movielist.last_videodir=/media/hdd/

Will it be temp fix until next reboot?

I am having this same problem. However I don't know what init 3 or 4 means and not sure how to edit the enigma 2 settings. Please can you help.

I don't know if this is of any use but I've discovered what causes this, well on my Ultimo at least.
If I'm in the media list to my NAS drive mount and I start backing out a level at a time by clicking "OK" on the folder at the top of the list. If by mistake I click on the top folder in the root of the NAS drive rather than pressing "yellow" for location, this causes the Black Screen Of Death and the box crashes.
After a reboot when I press the list button it will crash every time and only a reflash will cure it.
Unfortunately I didn't have debug logs switched on when it happened last night.
