After all the Discussions on the site about Doing a Clean install of the New Vix images I just thought I would set up this thread for people to Compare Boxes
From starting the Flash by pressing the front screen to the TV Picture coming back on

Golden Interstar Xpeed LX3 ------- 6 minutes 43 seconds  I Thought it would be faster than that

fresh clean install of Apollo 7 to replace Apollo 3 and Restore a Backup of my files - no plugins apart from what are loaded with the image :)

EDIT 17/06/14: Taken from op's post 18 in this thread.

Before I started I did a New Backup and Image Backup on Both my Solo2 & LX3 and saved to the Hard Drives

Solo2 image reversal from Apollo 7 to Apollo3 -- 2 minutes 07 seconds
Solo2 image restore to Apollo 7 from Apollo3 ---2 minutes 08 seconds

LX3 image reversal from Apollo 7 to Apollo 3 ---2 minutes 23 seconds
LX3 image restore to Apollo 7 from Apollo 3 ---2 minutes 25 seconds

So the VU+ Solo2 wins

that was not the point the point is, Doing a Proper Backup before trying to do a Restore Simples

What exactly was in your backup? What plugins did you have previous image? Remember any plugins need to be re-installed via the feeds. If the server is busy it would take extra time. Pointless thread imo, everyones backups/settings could be massively different.

I only set this up for a bit of fun really for the people Complaining about having to do a re flash :) and that's why I said that I had no plug ins installed

Well I don't know how long other people take to do a minuet, never mind six - but my Quad Plus does a flash and re-boot in under two minutes:)

not even 5 minutes to flash and restore with LCD4plugin and CCcam.

 I thought it was a bit slow so what could be causing it could it be the memory stick

Just did a FULL reflash of my Solo2 and it took - 6 minutes 50 seconds
I use Tetracopy but for the images that I have downloaded from this site I just unrar them to the USB Stick and use the Front USB Port as it's a pain fishing with the back USB ports
I sometimes format with minitool partition wizard but not this time I used windows and a 16 gig Lexar because it flashes so I can tell the Data is being transferred
I Think that i will have to start Experimenting with some different memory sticks, I usually use Kingston but they do not have the flashing led
Goin to try with my 8gig Kingston DTSE9

My new flash is 3 beer long! I take my bounty to the brook:p:fart2:

YES judge I have a 1TB Hard Drive fitted in both Solo2 & LX3
I am not really bothered about how long it takes to Flash the Boxes as long as they run OK
I only set up this thread for a bit of fun  and now I am glad that I did because it has found a problem that I intend to try and fix
I will try doing a couch flash and let you know

I Had better not try for the time being as Downloads are Set to Unstable :nono: and I Had just reinstalled Apollo 3 :roflmao:

Just Installed Apollo 7 again in my LX3 but used a PATRIOT 8gig Memory Stick  this time it took 7 minutes 15 seconds with Back ups

I Think it's time to watch the Footy lol

Just did a Image re flash and ran your video as I was doing it and I was finished before your video then it went in to the settings restore
So I ran the video again as I did it and it finished before your video  but I noticed that I had long pauses in between with no image or righting on the front screen
as if it had been paused then restarted again but all in all the image restore took 4 minutes 30 seconds and that's with the so called pauses

Still something wrong with your set-up. Couch flash can be done between ITV ad breaks here...

For some reason a couch flash doesn't work for me. Just says please wait while restore prepares and then counts down from 50 seconds, finishes and does nothing. Something in my settings?
