I try to download plugins from the plugins server but getting this error:

Collected errors:
* Opkg_conf_load: Could not lock /var/lib/opkg/lock: Resource temporarily unavailable

What could be wrong?

Are you sure your network connection is working? if so, try waiting a short while or rebooting the box.

This is what i get when i try to ping www.world-of-satellite.com from the box:

64 bytes from 94.75.215.25: seq=0 ttl=54 time=68.328 ms
64 bytes from 94.75.215.25: seq=1 ttl=54 time=65.680 ms
64 bytes from 94.75.215.25: seq=2 ttl=54 time=66.258 ms

No the plugin feeds are not down but the ocram server is, this is what is causing the issues. For now you can manually edit or remove the ocram feed which will allow you to use the ViX plugin feeds again. Ocram's feed will be removed from the image from build 042 onwards.

Think I may have deleted the OSPK <spelling> file by mistake too.

am getting the following message "no new plugins found"

I kept getting that yesterday. The message - could not lock......It prevented me installing CCcam from blue button vix menu after transferring it to /tmp folder. So not sure if hte ocram file would affect that - or maybe it would.

EDIT - and yes, my network connection was fine, and yes, it was not even looking at the network to download the file as it was in teh /tmp folder.

Thanks, how do I do this? a pointer would help.
FTP to /etc/opkg/ and rename or delete the ocram feed from there.

done that, now getting the message - "no new plugin found"

here is a screenshot of the folder, think I may have deleted an additional file.

opkg.webp

Via a telnet session issue the opkg update command and see of that resolves your issue.

Yes, ocram feed server being down without notice causes all sorts of issues.
No plugin feeds.
Extended background checks due to server timeouts.
Lock on opkg checks due to extended background checks because of above issue.

No plugins can be installed when opkg is locked. On FIW, opkg is used & if locked, causes more issues.

You have an opkg file missing. replace it with this one. you need to extarct it.

Did you do that shortly after a boot? Perhaps it's conflicting with the automated Software Update check.
I got this earlier today, but it had gone a minute later.
Mind you, I couldn't do updates until I'd removed the ocram config (for picons - see rest of the thread). Actually, not strictly true. I did manage to get the list of plugins once, and managed to install one (or rather, started that off - but it failed) and then couldn't get the list again until the ocram config was removed.

now I am getting the same error as above for plugins.

As for software update - I am getting feeds are down for maintenance (running apollo 41)
