Where you buy IPTV?
Most IPTV provider give playlists for Enigma receivers, m3u8 playlist, playlists for Smart TV and etc.
No need plugins or IPTV boxes.

I always use userbouquet.iptv.tv

Inside look like:

#NAME IPTV Television
#SERVICE 1:0:1:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:rtmp%3a//serveraddress/iptv/101?key=Password:Channel name
or

and etc.

Vix group images fine working with these bouquets, but have problems with IPTV recording.
Only images up to Vix Apollo 023 able record HTTP streams. All images from Apollo 024 - not record HTTP and RTMP streams.

Open Pli group images fine working with IPTV bouquets. HTTP stream recording working fine (not tested RTMP stream recording).

Black Hole images not worked with HTTP and RTMP streams (not wasted time and not tested where are problems).

Open ATV images work like Vix - Old and new images fine working with IPTV bouquets, but unfortunatelly new images (around from August 2014) not recording HTTP/RTMP streams (same problem like with Vix group images), old images fine record IPTV streams.

Why not possible?
I use Vix Apollo 023 (on my Vu+ Solo2) HTTP streams fine working, recordings too fine working.
All Vix group images up to Apollo 023 fine recorded IPTV (HTTP streams).
Open Pli group images too fine working with IPTV (HTTP stream) recording.
Only RTMP streams not recording.

There Open Pli image. Vix images up to Apollo 023 too fine recorded HTTP streams, from Apollo 024 HTTP streams recording, but very bad and Vu+ Solo2 freeze. Still awaiting when somebody find and solve problem why Apollo 023 fine recorded and played HTTP streams and from Apollo 024 - HTTP streams not recording properly and receiver freeze.

add the DESCRIPTION below the text not along side
and add forward slash at end of url

forward slash at the end tells to record as a ts

otherwise you will get that error when trying to record

just to add to above RTMP streams recording

i forgot to say you have to fool the box to record RTMP

the forward slash at the end wont work with 4097 for recording RTMP

so the work around is

/etc/enigma2/userbouquet.favourites.tv

put this
change red bit to your pc ip address

#SERVICE 1:0:1:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//[COLOR="#FF0000"]192.168.1.4[/COLOR]%3a8902/
#DESCRIPTION MY STREAM

save
exit
restart enigma2


start vlc on pc

then go to
Tools -> Preferences -> All -> Interfaces -> Main Interfaces -> Select Web -> save

now go to

Tools -> Preferences -> All -> Stream output

in the box

Default Stream Output Chain

put

#duplicate{dst=std{access=http,mux=ts,dst=:8902},dst=display}

save

get a RTMP stream and open it with vlc

now go to your channel list bouquet favourites.tv on your sat box
and select MY STREAM thats the name i gave #DESCRIPTION MY STREAM

the RTMP stream will now play

now press the record button on the remote
and it will record RTMP stream as a ts file
to your sat box hdd

the reason this works is the box thinks its using a stream from here

#SERVICE 1:0:1:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//192.168.1.4%3a8902/
which has the flag 1 at the start and the forward slash at the end

Recording on my Duo2 also works

However I can only record 1 channel and not watch any streams while it is recording, it's very flaky , But it does (kind of work)

I guess these are satellite boxes after all and dedicated Android streaming boxes cost less than £80 for better hardware than even my top of the line E2 box.

The above applies to Http streams, not sure about other kinds if they work for recording and watching at same time (Http do not - They will record but the box will freeze if you try to watch and record)

This I'm guessing is due to tuners not being used and as I mentioned these boxes are not designed for streaming as a main task, or if they were then VU+ needs to update their drivers.

My two cents:
Vu+ DUO with Apollo 163

• timer recording not working (just get a 0kb file on hdd)
• instant recording actually starts but stops after about 10 seconds (obviously the DUO is left on the channel). Anyway the resulting recorded video is viewable but, as said, few seconds long

Just using iptv channel list and no other workaround like the ones previously described

it is already possible to record iptv channels using the standard record button on Vix

I have tried openvix4.2 to record an iptv "premiumpay channel servers" using a testing account and it doesn´t work. If i go to the movies folder i find the file but the time recorded is ZERO.
It seems that you need two subscriptions to watch and record the same channel because gstreamer doesn´t allow you to record the watched channel on the fly. Do you have another explanation?
The type of premium channel was
#DESCRIPTION Time Rush [DE] [2016]
#SERVICE 4097:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3A//blablablablbalba/blaba/blabla.mkv

I thought that 4097 channels were already supported. See gstreamer for openpli http://forums.openpli.org/topic/38409-iptv-gstreamer-recording/

I have tried with other open-free channels with openvix4.2 at it seems to work without problems.
Another explanation, is that gstreamer and openvix4.2 needs some kind of buffer from the server. If the server doesn´t provide you that then they are not able to record even on the fly watching channels.
