After updating to this distro the recordings on my hard drive have disappeared/deleted.

Can anyone else confirm this ?

Hello :wave: welcome to the forum

your recordings should not get Deleted unless you format the drive, the default for recordings is usually media/hdd/movies do you have that folder on your Hard Drive

As above, flashing a image or updating via online updates does not touch the HDD and does not delete recordings, I would suggest you check that the drive is mounted first. Blue button> ViX> mount manager.

It was the red button use as an HDD.
