After owning this receiver for a couple of weeks it developed a problem that when you try to play anything back whether its a recording or using ondemand plugin or whatever it freezes after a second or two and then when you press stop it crashes and just sits in the spinner and does not recover forcing me to power off and on again. Once booted back up it then will not playback just as before.

I tried to get some joy from gigablue but they have said to try their official image and if that plays back ok it must be a bug in vix image. I have flashed with the openmips image as suggested and yes it plays back fine. I then tried eurosat image which also seems to playback fine. So at this point it seems to be a bug in vix image. But I then flashed openatv image which had same playback problem.

Ultimately the only reason I even bought this receiver is that it can use a vix image and I find myself unable to. It seems strange that nobody else seems to have this issue if it is a bug in vix? Any feedback on this would be gratefully received please.

I've checked the hdd folder and there appears to be no crashlogs there. Where can I find debug logs please?

menu / setup / system / logs / logs settings / enable debug logs

Debug logs need to be enabled & an E2 restart done before they are created.
Menu -> Setup -> System -> Logs -> Settings -> Enable debug logs = yes.

Debug & crash logs are saved to /home/root/logs/ by default.

I cant see the spinner in the log - did you recreate the issue after enabling the log?
If not recreate and post a new log.

Yes m8. Enabled the log and then played video back. It then freezes and I press stop. At that point it goes blank screen with spinner and I have to power down and switch back on again

Upload a log the next time the issue occurs.

Here is another log. Dont know if it is relevant but I noticed that the log file does not appear until after I have shut box down and restarted

A debug log will start on each reboot or E2 restart.
This one also doesn't show your issue happening.

Please confirm whether the reported issue occurred after you had enabled the debug logs? If it did not happen, then there is no point in uploading the logs. You have t omake the issue happen so that the logs show what is going on.

what does that mean then? If it does not produce any crash log and the debug log does not show the issue what can I do?
Two more logs attached
First post suggests you also have a crashing issue, if so, you will have a crash log.
Following posts suggest you have an unresponsive box. In that case, with debug logs enabled, it might take guessing work out of what the issue actually is if you capture a debug log of when the issue happens.

These 2 logs, one is a full reboot, the other is an E2 restart. Presume you couldn't do the E2 restart if the box wasn't working as expected?

Restart the box or E2, use as little button presses as possible to reproduce the issue.
FTP into the box & get the relevant debug log after the issue happens & before pulling the plug on it.

Yes the logs were turned on before I created all 4 of those log files

I checked that before but the log does not seem to appear until after I pull the plug and re-boot

Did you ever get a fix for this? I have come across this issue too after upgrading from Apollo to Hades 018 image.
Video playback was working fine with Apollo. :(

I did a clean flash (i.e. no restore) with the Hades 004 image and that seems to have sorted things so far anyway
