i've noticed that files with strange filenames appear in /home/root...
is that an indication that the filesystem is corrupted?
can i check the ubifs somehow? similar to e2fsck for jffs2?
thanks.

Is the box exposed to the public internet (forwarded router ports)?

Sounds dodgy. I have no files in the home dir. Anything sus showing up when you run netstat?

caught it again:
Code:
root@vuduo2:~# ls -la
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 520 Oct 25 17:52 .
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 224 Oct 7 19:22 ..
-rw------- 1 root root 1628 Oct 28 19:28 .ash_history
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 232 Oct 11 15:07 .cache
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 21020 Oct 21 19:22 ipkgupgrade.log
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 160 Oct 11 15:08 logs

looks like epg garbage

so it's a regular enigma file? the file name is odd though... and not always the same, if i recall it correctly.

have not seen those garbage files since i moved epg.dat to hdd.
looks like there is interference between shutdown and writing the file to flash which causes those file system problems.
