[VU+ Duo] Help needed please - Issues with installing VIX 3.2

Hi All

I have a VU+ Duo version 3.0 wanting to update to 3.2

I have FTP the 3.2 zip file to hdd/image back ups.

I have backed up 3.0 and backed up settings.

I then go to image manager and restore 3.2, it then begins set up then the box restarts. It asks if I want to restore settings and plugins I say no as my understanding was that you shouldnt restore plugins.

When 3.2 image is installed the box has no cccam file and when I try and install it will not extract, Tried different versions but none work.

Gave up and gone back to 3.0 which is fine.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

When I try to restore settings it says it is not compatabile with 3.2?

The restore proces has been made so as not to allow really old settings. This to avoid compatability issues, still had a few though.

So save any impotant files and transfer back afterwards.

Yes I proceed without restoring settings.

Then box is like new, i.e no cccamm, bouqets, nothing. When I FTP a cccam file it does not extract as if file is corrupted but worked fine on 3.0 version. Tried different cccam files but none work.

Well, a new image will be new with none plugins or bouquets.

You will have to set it up from scratch. See New box setup guide (a link is in my signature). Youc an install CCcam from plugins menu, there will be no config file.

thats what I have tried to do, but like i say when i download the CCcam plugins from here

none of them extract. as if file is corrputed but i used the same files on version 3.0 and worked fine?

any ideas please?

Menu > Plugins > Green (for download plugins) > Softcams

Select and install

Sorry, maybe Im not being clear.

I download the 3.2 zip file
Transfer via FTP to the box to hdd/image back ups
I go blue button>vix>image manager>openvix-3.2 zip file and click yes to restore
box advises reflash in process
box starts up and i am presented with the install wizard
i attempt to restore settings but says the settings are not compatable with this update
I proceed anyway and complete the install wizard process
as no settings have come over I proceed to FTP enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.3.0_1.0_mipsel to tmp folder
on the box i go to menu>setup>vix>install local extension
the CCcam is there so I proceed to download
CCcam will not download says file is invalid but this cccam worked on 3.0
have also tried other CCcaams and these have same result
have tried to update older vix image updates like apollo but get same results

Don't ftp the CCcam plugin :thumbsup:, just do as Abu says Menu > Plugins > Green (for download plugins) > Softcams

Select the Softcam you want and choose install
The system will then do it for you from the correct feeds for your box and image.

Do this for ALL plugins you need for the image.

no need to ftp. just do what abu suggested and it will install, all you need to do is active and enable auto start up

this 3.2 seems to be the least problematic version I have installed.

restored my settings (as pinned post said I could), redownloaded my plugins and all seems well.

I was only asked to restore settings, was never prompted to restore plugins.

Hi Abu,

I have just updated my Duo to V 3.2
Hi I have tried to install a softcam as indicated above ( Menu > Plugins > Green (for download plugins) > Softcams )
Once re-booted I can now see the CCCam info
However, when I go into this and click onto any of the settings ie General/Clients/Servers etc

I get an error "Error reading webpage!"

I have tried a few different softcams with the same result.

Any advise much appreciated

This can happen, particularly if you have not updated to the latest image using the clean usb install method.

Easiest work round is to use the web interface through your browser, not the box cccam info.
