when you select the recordings list the tv channel continues in a small window.
this is nothing different from other functions. when you exit the tv channel continues in full screen.
however, in the recordings list case it is different: when you exit the tv channel gets disrupted before it continues in full screen. this has been kind of annoying to me for a long time now.
i thought i write it up and hope it can be changed.
thanks.

Running the same version of Hades and I have no issues exiting back from the recording list. I also have a network mount and returning from that list has no problems either, other than the occasional slight delay that seems to occur with network mounts. Certainly no visible disruption though.

I did do a complete reflash with no restored settings though, as I was having ABM problems.

maybe disruption is the wrong word... the screen goes black for a second or so. again this happens just when you selected the movie list and exit without having played a movie.... vix hd night skin. thanks.

I get this too, I honestly hadn't noticed till you pointed it out :)

Hi
I get this effect too on my Gigablue Quad Plus. It is only very slightly annoying to me, but others have commented on it - it seems to bother them more than me.

Had this on my TM Nano SE back in the early days of Hades but was quickly fixed at that time. It has returned since (I think) 015 as mentioned above, I've been updating as and when the updates appear, now on 019, and the blank screen continues on exit from the movie list.

Exiting movie screen to live TV requires a number of processes to kick in.
No difference in recent recent image & version builds.

i'm not referring to exiting the movie screen. I'm referring to displaying the movie list (not playing a movie) tv continues in the small window, and then just exiting the movie list.

i think the bug is located in this area (movielselection.py):
Code:
	def abort(self):
		global playlist
		del playlist[:]
		if self.list.playInBackground:
			self.list.playInBackground = None
			self.session.nav.stopService()
			self.callLater(self.abort)
			return

		if self.playingInForeground:
			self.list.playInForeground = self.playingInForeground
			self.session.nav.stopService()
			self.close(self.playingInForeground)
			return

		self.saveconfig()
		from Screens.InfoBar import InfoBar
		infobar = InfoBar.instance
		if self.session.nav.getCurrentlyPlayingServiceReference():
			if not infobar.timeshiftEnabled() and ':0:/' not in self.session.nav.getCurrentlyPlayingServiceReference().toString():
				self.session.nav.stopService()
		self.close(None)
but i don't unserstand this foreground/background thing. :-(

well, one method to isolate a bug is simply to remove stuff that could cause the bug. so i removed the stuff that was added by vix to the original pli code and tried this:
Code:
	def abort(self):
		global playlist
		del playlist[:]
		if self.list.playInBackground:
			self.list.playInBackground = None
			self.session.nav.stopService()
			self.callLater(self.abort)
			return

		self.saveconfig()
		self.close(None)
and voila, it works as desired... at least for the one use case.
now i know that the stuff was added for a good reason... but obviously introduced the bug.
so, could one of the experts please have look and develop a fix. it's probably just a missing if or so...
thanks.

found out that this one is the culprit:
Code:
	from Screens.InfoBar import InfoBar
		infobar = InfoBar.instance
		if self.session.nav.getCurrentlyPlayingServiceReference():
			if not infobar.timeshiftEnabled() and ':0:/' not in self.session.nav.getCurrentlyPlayingServiceReference().toString():
				self.session.nav.stopService()
strange use case: you pause tv, then go in the movie player, watch a movie, and then return to the paused tv channel???? who would do something like that?

during my testing i found out another bug:
when you stop playing a movie you return to the movie list and the tv channel preview starts. however it doesn't start with a full frame (like when you zap) but it (often) starts with a partial frame. not nice.

here's a fix/workaround:
Code:
+              if not config.movielist.show_live_tv_in_movielist.value:
		        if self.session.nav.getCurrentlyPlayingServiceReference():
			        if not infobar.timeshiftEnabled() and ':0:/' not in self.session.nav.getCurrentlyPlayingServiceReference().toString():
				       self.session.nav.stopService()
