Quad Tuner Config to maximise non transcoded streams

Hi guys can I just ask a similar question......
First a little background, I have a fixed dish with quad lnb and a vu+ duo quad (2 twin tuners) and I'm working on a project that requires me to get the maximum streams out of the box on the 8001 port to my PC (no transcoding) and I assume the unto 16 channel limit is due to the amount of data the hard drive can write simultaneously but I've never been able to get more than 7 streams running at the same time, even if they are from similar transponders. So I was thinking I may have configured the tuners wrong (unless you clever peeps have any other ideas). My config for each tuner is

Simple
Single
Astra 28.2E.

and box details

System OE: OE-Alliance 3.2
Distro: openvix
Firmware version: 3.2.036

Any help or input on this would be greatly appreciated as I've been working on this for weeks and had many sleepless nights, so please help me get an early night

I reckon you might have a network bandwidth limit before that.
You might be able to get ~100MB/s over a Gbit network connexion and I'd expect to be able to write to an hdd at ~120MB/s (an SSD could manage more).

No real need for writing to HDD to stream though.
Think the OP post is confused about streaming & similar transponders?
Streamed multiple channels over wireless on the same transponder on old VU's.
Have streamed more using more than one tuner, but only for brief tests. If hardwired, would expect even more.

@gavla On the box, pick a channel that has lots more channels on the same transponder, can they all stream?
If so, while streaming, try to max out another tuner.

Thanks for the speedy reply, but the way it seams to work is that I set one stream going using the bouquet link e.g. http://foo/bar:8001//1:0:1:1656:7E5:2:11A0000:0:0:0: or the m3u and tuner A lights up on the box set the next going and tuner B lights up and once A-D or full I can squeeze 2-3 more out but the rest fail, But i was hoping for all the channels on the same transponder to use it without hitting the next tuner. if that makes any sense

ok Judge thanks for the help, here is a log file, the channels are not all on the same transponder although 5 or 6 are, but this is what i'm looking to achieve, if you'd like the log when i use all from the same transponder, i can do that tomorrow

in my duo2 i only see 9 demux devices (demux0..demux8)... so i'd assume the limit is 9, no?

I think you may be correct 2stein, I've been adding the required streams one by one from each transponder and I was mistaken earlier as it does use the same transponder until you add a channel on the next, but I can't get more than 8 stable streams ( the 9th adds and drops out), do any of you knowledgeable guys know any way to increase this?
Also is this written into the box or the enigma image as I really had my heart & the success of my latest project an achieving 16 streams.

demuxers are hardware devices on the chip that filter a channel from a transponder.
so, if the code does not artificially restrict the number of /dev/demux devices (which i don't think) then this is a hardware limitation.

What is your setup? What Unicable LNB do you have? Unicable feed goes into Tuner A, and for Tuner B what do you have?

Inverto ( i'm not sure about the model ) with 1 unicable and 2 universal outputs..

Unicable goes into Tuner A SCR 1, Tuner C SCR 2 connected to Tuner A, Tuner D SCR 3 connected to Tuner C, Tuner E SCR 4 connected to Tuner D.. and i'm able to watch 4 channels on different transponders .. great .. so i thought i could completely stream all the channels from those 4 transponders over the network but it fails due to the number of frontends ....

you have an lnb with only 4 scrs which is equal to 4 virtual tuners or 4 parallel transponders.
so, your limit is 4 streams on different transponders.
you can get more if streams are on the same transponders.
p.s.
the number of frontend devices equals the number of transponders you can view in parallel.
the number of demux devices equals the number of streams you can view on a maximum of 8 transponders.
but your lnb limits the number of transponders to 4.
