[ET8x00] Crash when entering Trashcan in recordings

Have you tried looking at the hd from a pc?

Yep, can see hdd fine, accessing through windows explorer to view folder. If I enable "show hidden folders" I can view ".Trash" and have managed to empty it, however the box still crashes when trying to view contents of "deleted" folder via the gui?

.

Try stopping enigma2 first with a telnet init 4, and then have another go at tidying up. init 3 to restart.

Tried doing a update via the box, no difference, tried doing a telnet init 4, init 3, no difference, still a crash when trying to acess the folder, I know files are being placed in there as I can acess then via a pc browser, but when I try via the box, it crashescan not alter timeshift. hiw can I unmounts and re mount the hdd??

Going to backup all my recordings, and then try a factory restore, and reflash of latest image, then format and re-initialise the hdd.

The hdd files are backing up tonight, so ill try this tomorrow night, however if anyone in the meantime can shed some light on this it would be appreciated.

There were some changes to the way deleted items are displayed. Maybe an unforseen event.

Code:
< 8175.804> [TRASHCAN DeBug path] /media/hdd/movie/.Trash/
< 8175.807> [TRASHCAN DeBug] /media/hdd/movie/.Trash
< 8175.813> Traceback (most recent call last):

After deleting an empty folder today, everytime I try to access the trashcan in my recordings list, the box crashes, any ideas?

This code was added recently to allow Trash folders to be sorted by deletion or record time, rather then use your standard folder sort method.
I've just created an EMPTY folder and deleted it. I have no problems viewing the Trash can afterwards (with any setting of that option).

Open the movie list somewhere it works, press Menu and click on Settings (top item).
What does the "Sort Trash by deletion time" entry show for its setting?

reboot receiver and do a checkdisk from HDD menu.NO INTIALIZE but looking for faults on HDD and restoring them.Had same problem and that did the trick.

If someone can post step by step instructions on how to produce the problem, a change to avoid it may be possible.

Not doubting you, but that seems odd.
The reported error is nothing to do with the file-system - it's looking for an item in a list and not finding it (but it should be there).

A workaround for the op may be to go back to VIX release 4.1.011 (?) which hasn't got the changes.

Useful to try and get some debug logs first, though.

EDIT: just looked at the crashlog in the first post, and it's release 4.1.009

I got round this issue by using vix4.1.010 using the OpenVix Custom EPG plugin seems to cause more issues when pressing file list then menu or going into timeshift settings

Having done a fresh USB install, I thought I had resolved the issue, however it has returned, when I load the "openvix custom epg" ipk, this is when the problems occure.

Without this loaded, everything works fine, once loaded, I cannot change settings in movie (pvr) location, enter my trash can, change timeshift settings.

Once removed, everything returns to normal.

Does this help in finding the fault??

I know I'm getting on a bit, but isn't this the first time you've mentioned "openvix custom epg"?

Sorry, just re read your post, yes this is the first time ive mentioned the custom epg, as I wasn't aware that this could cause a problem, however from doing a fresh flash from usb, and installing my plugins one by one, and testing as ive gone, I have managed to find that this may be the culprit.
