Is my Vu solo2 fecked?

When exiting Cool Tv Guide, I get message: New Version Is Now Available etc no new verssion available so i left well alone and just ignored the annoying message. However now when i press my red button to go to the guide it goes straight to the message, thus i have no options of trawling through guide to see whats on, also noticed i cant access ts panel you tube or any other addons.

So
1) Prepare a USB stick, format FAT32. I'd recommend using this HP Format tool.
2) Download the image you would like to use, extract the vuplus folder.
3) Copy the vuplus folder to root of your USB stick.
4) Connect to VU+ Solo2.
5) Power on, when prompted on front display to press power button, touch the BLUE cirlces to the left of the front panel. This is the touch sensitive power button.
6) Wait for the flashing process to complete and automatically reboot. DO NOT POWER OFF DURING THE FLASHING PROCESS!

At first the power button was only white and doesnt seem to work, vu solo2 recognises the update and asks to press power button. Fiddled on and yay it recognised the update used the BlackHole-3.0.3-vusolo2_usb_release_20161224_d3f1586

sequence of events as seen on display... update press blue button... flashing...UBIFS update... reboot

however the reboot starts and gets stuck no signal to tv as using hdmi, and just VUsolo2 showing on th box display


HELP!!! please lol can i try an open vix image and get rid of blackhole or will that just do the same and is the box fkd.??

If you are absolutely 100% sure it is not a clone then you should either download another image, Vix or whatever or redownload the one you are trying and try a different USB stick, yours could be corrupt.

brand new stick tried 2.1.7 version of blackhole as well as the 3.0.2 starting to think the box is a clone

New or not does not matter. Try to use brand new stick. This one seems to be some cheap stick base on which every company prints their promoting logo. Also try another image (vix, atv, ...) like suggested above.

ok tried 3 different sticks, two different blackhole images and an open vix image, all said reading..erasing..checking..flashing... UBIFS update then reboot
still no joy the display reads vusolo2, doesnt even get a signal on tv

How long have you had the box and where did you buy it from obviously not from World of Sat and if it worked before you updated it it might have been Cloned Software that was installed

got the box of some Irish dude called Andrew, who disappeared a year or so after i got box, was quite helpful until disappearance and he had a website and tutorial videos however my son got a dreambox off him that turned out to be a clone, i have posted the pics on here will they not indicate a clone?
I have tried 3 diff updates from good sites.

If it is a clone and i have to buy a new receiver with a max of £200 what do you recommend, need twin tuner and internal hdd minimum probably with openvix dont need usb or home plugs

I would go 4K if I had to choose. Better processor, Memory, H.265 HEVC & future proof for 4K content if & when it comes.

Try again, I have the same problem with a genuine solo2. I've tried the 2 newest images and get a blank screen with solo2 on the front panel. The image ending in .18 worked for me but would crash after a reboot, so I downgraded back to 4.0 and that worked but crashed on reboot again but I think I've worked out this only happens after installing the blue skin. I'll have to try upgrading to 0.18 again and see if that works without the blue skin.
