Help!I wanted to be able to Record on my MiracleboxMini Premium so I bought a Toshiba Canvio Ready 1TB USB hard drive. I followed instructions to initialize the HD all seemed OK. I set to record a programme which failed because not enough memory. I started looking around set up and Discovery that the software needed an update. I Tried to do that and now all I have is a Openvix logo start page and the box won't do anything. I tried switching off and on with old USB memory stick and New HD with No Luck. I am totally new to this and dont really understand any of the lingo! Is there a reset on the Miraclebox Premium Micro? Or can you advise me on what to do? Idiots guide would be great.

Possibly because you didn't set the recording option to be your USB disk? Menu/setup/Recording, playback and timeshift/ recording and playback = select your USB hard disk rather than possibly a USB stick.

How did you update the software? If the software update was successful did you then get the options to set a HDMI (etc.) connection to your TV and the video format (size) and to use English as the language?

What happens if you now press the menu button on the remote? After flash of the image (software) without a restore of the previous settings you will have to set up your tuners and scan for channels.

It basically said update unsuccessful and all I could then see was the Openvix white log on a Black Screen. It is totally Frozen Menu button or anything else does not work Not even the off button works. I have changed the batteries in the remote.

Just tried that Same Frozen screen with logo no button not even the off button on the box works.

unsure if you did a software update online or a reflash as my take on reading this is you said memory was not enough on box?

thinking you need to start again from scratch and double check where your epg is getting saved?

is your external hdd a powered one or just usb?

Save files you need. Download newest image from openvix.co.uk then flash/install it.

There is a flashing guide on openvix.co.uk.

Its Just a USB. abu baniaz suggested a flash install. Can this be done if I can't get the box to do anything?

When a receiver does not boot owing to an error, flashing/installing the image again is the the quickest way to get it back to a working state.

I don't know what you mean by "Its Just a USB".

kingston 8gb usb are recommended for flashing e2 boxes,any usbs can have issue with these boxes.

Thanks abu baniaz SorryI am not very good with this sort of thing, I wasn't sure if flashing would work if I cant get it to do anything. I will try flashing with a new image. Fingers crossed... will let you know how I get on Cheers.

Immediately after a new flash the box reboots and the Miraclebox logo may stay on your screen for a good number of minutes - a lot longer than during a normal switch on boot-up. Leave it for 5 to 10 minutes to see if the box then continues booting. If it doesn't turn the box off at the mains, remove the USB stick with the flash data and then switch back on.

different boxes have their own way of showing booting spinning vix,number counting,or a booting scale on led screen we all have to wait until box is ready for commands, as adm says remove usb while powered off and power on and wait to finish booting.

Thanks ADM nothing worked last night. I went and bought a new 8GB USB this morning. Hey presto its back!
I am in the process of setting up again Cant remember how i got the Symbol Rate and is it the same for Glasgow and Uddingston?

Help again….Sorry failed at the last hurdle. I am now getting a message: Could not save
configfile/media/cf/CCcaminfo.blacklisted
Again any ideas really welcome?
