[VU+ Solo2] HbbTV plugin cannot be installed with Image 5.0.001

My Zgemma H7S has, I believe, an ARM processor. WebkitHbbtv is not listed in the plugins but hbbtv-qt is. I have installed hbbtv-qt but as it is then not listed in Plugin Browser, how do I invoke it?

Check under > Menu > Information > About. There you can read out the release but also the type of processor.

The zgemma uses QT plugin such as hbbtv. Normally to use, you have to be on a service that supports it like some of the German services eg ZDF/das Erste and press the red button

Thank you. I now get hbbtv with a long press of the red button. It would be nice if UK channels offered the feature! Some of the French hbbtv channels don't like my UK IP address.

Its a feature that is much liked in the German speaking countries but as a technology I don‘t see it going any further and question how much longer it will survive.

Tested with release 5.3.012 - still the same. Cannot install HbbTV. Lucky enough I get the the Swiss and German TV media portals through MediaPortal plugin.

I'd give my vote to get hbbtv back on my Vu Zero as well. It worked fine in past.

Now we are at image 5.3.018 release and still the same error message comes up when trying to install hbbtv plugin. Obviously only a few Mohawks use hbbtv on vu plus with mipsel processors. Why does hbbtv run on OpenATV but not on openvix? Did somebody kick out the necessary opera browser plugin from the repository?

Have a try with MediaPortal. There you get to ARD, ZDF, ORF and ARTE media libraries.
This is the only way I have access to missed stuff.

Tough luck. If this is your top priority, I would go back to image 5.2.045. With this one the HbbTV plugin installs (including Opera) and it works. Whether MediaPortal still does - I don't know.
This means for you: Backup of settings and plugins, downloading 5.2.045 on USB, flashing, restoring settings and plugins, downloading HbbTV plugin.
It's crazy but I wouldn't know another way.

Now we are on release 5.3.026 and still the same issue when downloading HbbTV plugin. I'll wait for one more release. If it isn't working with 5.3.027 I will say goodbye to OpenVIX and you'll find me on OpenATV. :-(

Why not look at the OpenVix changelogs https://www.world-of-satellite.com/...-5-3-Released!&p=488414&viewfull=1#post488414 , they'll tell you what changes have been incorporated since the last release.

Did you ever look at the OpenPLi link I posted for you, you might have found some "good" news on that forum.

I regularly read the changelogs but so far I haven't noticed anything about hbbtv or opera plugin. Your openpli link says indeed something more. I am ready to testing a new hbbtv plugin. Please let me know when and where I could download a test candidate.
