I don't understand much about it. There is a stream type in the log. And it worked for you on PY2. The rewind problem appeared on PY3.

Am I missing something here same serviceapp code OpenATV & OpenVIX so are changes needed for OpenVIX or is this a github fix also for OpenATV ?

Basically there are 2 modified clones of the original serviceapp used in the OE-A images. The OpenViX version differs as we use some direct python 3 to C++ conversions and also use libsigc++ 3.0 across the whole of our E2 python 3 image.
Recent changes improve the switching between services, made some of the serviceapp components e.g. console.cpp compatible with the version in the E2 image and resolved an issue with FF/REW in OpenViX HiSilicon images
