Im going thru the menues on my box and am struggling to understand The CrossEPG. There seems to be a lot of Providers to set up as well as the General config. Shall I just leave it alone for now untill im a bit more savvy with the box or jump in. If I need to play about with it, whats the recomended settings/providers etc.. I should use. MANY THANKS FELLAS :)

If you are using cross epg...

I have it configure so that i use OpenTV for Sly UK 28.2 and then i select the rest of mysources from xepgdb for other locations....i.e. Sky Italia, Gerymany.

Once selected you can modify the settings so that the download happens at a fixed time everyday. You can also start a manual download. This will send the box in to radio mode whilst it does that download.

Hope that helps.

Also, you can set the order in which it downloads the epg data...

As a rule of thumb, don't download every provider out there. Only download those which are going to be useful to you ;) E.g. bulsat and upc are transmitted in their own language and those symbols. If you can't read it (probably majority of this forum), then it's no use for you, and can cause stability problems in your box by having too much epg data...

Finally, only download each provider once. I would say to choose either the rytec xmltv import, or the xepgdb sources. If you prefer to use opentv for sky uk/it, then go ahead and use that, but don't download it from the xmltv or xepgdb also, as this duplicates...
