Build my own Vix image

I have no modifications and never seen "python3-tmdbsimple" before, had to google what it is.

I guess there is no other option but start from the beginning.

There is no difference between 22.04 or 24.04, error is exactly the same.

I'm using a laptop and running Ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04 in Virtualbox, Windows host. Building just takes little bit longer..

No idea what went wrong but it builds for the rest of us, so I would start from scratch.

Removed build-environment folder and cloned oe-alliance again. But building sf8008 error remains the same when do_rootfs.
Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 has all latest Ubuntu updates installed, if that matters

What are you building? Whole image with feeds?

If python3-tmdbsimple is missing just build it and then complete your build.

I'm building only image, no feeds. I will check this.

I did try a make enigma2-image as a 1st build after cloning the build environment and it failed but doing a full make image succeeded, so try that mate

Hi all, just done a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS but fallen at the first hurdle of setting up a new build environment.
Using the instructions at the bottom of this page: https://github.com/OpenViX/enigma2/tree/Developer
When I try to 'Install packages on your buildserver', I get the following errors:

willo@ubuntu:/$ sudo apt-get install -y libegl1-mesa
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package libegl1-mesa

willo@ubuntu:/$ sudo apt-get install -y python-setuptools

Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Package python-setuptools is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

willo@ubuntu:/$ sudo apt-get install -y qemu

Package qemu is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or

E: Package 'qemu' has no installation candidate

Any ideas?

So what command were you running so I can test here.

Just trying to build 6.7 sf8008 image without feeds fails here, release/developer, doesn't matter.

MACHINE=sf8008 DISTRO=openvix DISTRO_TYPE=release make enigma2-image

But this worked:

MACHINE=sf8008 DISTRO=openvix DISTRO_TYPE=release make image

When I try to 'Install packages on your buildserver', I get the following errors:

E: Unable to locate package libegl1-mesa
Try libegl1-mesa-dev instead. Although why a graphics library is need for building is a bit odd.

Package python-setuptools is not available, but is referred to by another package.

Ignore it. It isn't needed.

Probably not needed either.

I only have qemu-user-static installed, but that's because I actually have some QEMU setups. I'm not aware of Vix build needing any.

Have you sorted the apparmor

Just tried it and it's still the same errors.

I probably need to update the pckage build requirements .. will do it tomorrow.
but have you run a build? Forget these initial issues with some of the packages

No, I haven't tried yet. I'll wait for the updated instructions or I'll be plaguing you all night with stupid questions! :)

Ok, I'll look into it.

Well that went better than expected :) Thank you

I have tried several times this afternoon and this evening to build the latest 6.7.000.007 developer build for my Zgemma H7S.
It looks like it tries to build 6.7.000.005 rather than 6.7.000.007 and fails, right at the end trying to make root file system.

Any ideas what's wrong?

We are moving to OE- A 5.5.1 which is now developer branch
to build from branch 5.5 you need developer- OE- A- 5.5 branch
