Dear all
So far I have used DreamboxEdit under Windows to edit/backup the channel list. As I want to get completely rid of Windows I am looking for an editor to edit / backup the channel list. Which editor do you use? I downloaded the DemonEditor set the IP, the user and the password. When testing the connection it says ok. However when I do a download it comes up with an error on the file opening.

What would you recommend me?

I have looked at it, but for me it has two shortcomings: a) It doesn't make a backup on my laptop b) I cannot see how I could get rid of all the old, irrelevant , encrypted or no more valid channels which are not in the bouquets.

In the end I stay with DreamboxEdit running in Linux under WINE.

a) Three dots near the right hand the top of the bouquet editor page and then "export.
b) Where are you seeing all the channels that are not in a bouquet?

This is with the the modern interface in the web interface
menu/plugins/openwebif/
Use modern interface = yes

This is not necessary. The standard options will show the import, export, reload

You are dead right, I can export over the web interface. However, how can I delete a service.
Sample: under satellites I find 28.2E Astra and a service IEPG data1. Am I missing a delete button?

I see under all channel a lot of services I would like to get rid.

Just select the bouquet and then the channel and press the delete button (again I'm using the modern interface as noted in previous post).

Once you select the channel and it has a "tick" you can also use your mouse to move it in the list.

IEPG data1 is the over the air EPG channel for Sky. If you select this channel you will get a blank screen but remaining on it for 10 minutes populates the EPG over the air for some channels not on Freesat. I have a timer that gets this EPG info every morning. I use Autobouquets to create a Sky Free To Air (FTA) bouquet, rather than a Freesat bouquet. Sky FTA also has the same channels as Freesat. Note: Sky FTA may only get you a couple of extra channel you may want to watch. There are other ways in OpenVix of getting the over the air EPG.

You can hide some channels in Autobouquetmaker (Hide sections).

Rather than hiding/deleting stuff in in an all channels create a custom bouquet with just the channel you want.

Deleting a channel out of a bouquet works, but the channel is still there in the list of not to a bouquet assigned stations - this is a remove from bouquet rather than a delete. If a provider changes its frequencies you find the new channels on a search and you add them (at least those you prefer), but all the old invalid stuff remains in the unassigned "All" list. This is what I want to clean up.

I would not delete services which are not in a bouquet as the box scans in background for new services and will readd them at some time. If you use bouquets they do not bite.

On the receiver, select the non-working channel, then go to manual scan, it should be on the current transponder, ensure that you select "clear before scan", this will remove all the non-existent channels from the lamedb file.on your receiver. If you are scanning the whole satellite, enabling the clear before scan will remove services on transponders it scans before adding the ones it finds. The removed channels will then show as N/A in your bouquets.

You can also delete/copy/move channels using your remote. This is on the channel selection screen, not EPG screens. Highlight the channel and press menu.

Manual scan on the transponder with clear before is indeed a good idea.
Manually deleting channel through the menu works, yet there are too many and I don't want to kill my remote for cleaning up.
