Skinning concept

reviewing the 390/400 lcd skins... it looks like the adaptations for these screen sizes were just done quick and dirty. the infobar screen is mostly ok, but the rest...
fixing would be a lot of work... a script cant do that.

"quick and dirty" - probably, no idea where they came from - perhaps talk with Dimitar/Huevos - I know nothing about skins.

will leave it as is for now. if i move to vu+ duo i need different lcd skins anyway.

Hold on for a minute and we can make some templates to test the display.

Could be top left blocked.

@DimitarCC
during translation checking i stumbled over this screen (mountpoints management). looks like the user management subscreen is missing...

thanks.
another general question: i read people talk about skin parts. what is the concept and what is it used for. dream doesnt have something like that.

well, i dont remember the thread, but people were talking about using this and that skinpart for certain plugins... and i was wondering how that works because i've never come across a skinparts concept in dreamos.

Hmm i don't know either about this.
In recent versions of openvix there is Skin configurator plugin where you can install additional skin xmls (parts) into particular skin directory (in specific structure) and then from that configurator plugin you can choose to enable or disable particular part. For example if you have different versions of Channel list you can choose which version to use.

yes, that is exactly what i meant. so, you basically can define variants of one skin. for dreamos there is something similar. however, they modify the skin.xml based on the choice(s). they call the plugin "styles" or so. never used it. so, i guess i dont need skinparts either :-)
