I come from Germany and I try to obtain my receivers from here. This has nothing to do with the board sponsor, which I think is a really faithfull shop, even for foreigners...

I wouldn't say a tactic for sale... Just an early preview for buyers. If they wish to keep the image they can, if not, they reflash with the image they want... Site sponser has helped many people from what I remember... I'm sure if someone didn't want vix image on the box when they bought it, they could request from sponser not to...

Then you will have to wait for the et5000 vix official release. Shouldn't be too long, but andy just keeps adding more and more goodies to it

Hi I bought ET5000 and came with Vix.

But the firmware crashes often, not sure if it's due to i did an update in the menu. Is it possible to restore to it's original state please?

Crash mostly with an error in python.

the new vix image for et 5000 is out so u can get that and flash yr box

ViX v2.2 for ET5000 is deep beta version. After installation this Image, box crashed 4 times (in 1/2 hour). I instlalled the PLi image,that is more stable than the ViX.

the version of VIX 2.2 that came with the box was a BETA this version has now gone into full public launch. update the box with the newest image and fully update it.
also again i would ask if you have crash logs upload them here.

The ET5000 uses a different remote control frequenzy and does not come with a universal remote control.

Oh no I too was looking for a universal remote with it.

@Sicilian - you appear to have the ET5000 and the TM800 HD, which would you recommend?

Both are good receivers, but the ET5000 uses Enigma 2 like a Dreambox, VU+ etc.. and so ViX can support the ET5000. Excellent receiver

Not had te tm800 but ot the et5000 and its a fantastic box specially with the vix image on it. U reallywnt have ne complaints with this xtrend box

The TM800HD uses its own form of Enigma 2.
