Has anyone tried to do a restore using the image backup feature on the Vix setup?

I just tried to do a restore and got a message saying (This image is not compatible with this Vs. of Vix) So to make sure I was not trying to restore a Vix 2.0 image by mistake I did another image backup, and then tried to do a restore from that image file, and got the same message again.

I haven't tried redstoring an image for a while. But, if u ftp the folder across to your pc, and copy it to a usb stick as if flashing as per usual, it should work...

i restored a backup shortly after VIX 2.2 was officially launched and it worked fine for me, the backup of course was on a USB stick and on the Vu+Uno

ImageManager has just yet another major overhaul, it niw uses Job Tasks to create the backups, and yes they was a issue that slipped through for the duo, we are just testing it now so hopefully it will released soon. we just want to make sure it performs as it should

I can not change subtitle position and can not forward or backward subtitles with < and > key ?
whats problem/B :(

I upgraded my Image file and all worked fine until I attempted to upgrade CCcam and other plugins, I get a message requesting I upgrade ipkg file. Can some one assist.

Telnet to the box and type ipkg update

Hi

Great image, runs without any problems, thanks !!!

I just have a nerdish question : were can I find the setting for showing only the detailed infobar when using the Kerni HD1R2 skin ?

See attached pictures to see the difference between VIX 1.3 and 2.2

Thank's in advance for your reply(s), Tom

Thanks for your reply.

I did look in the customise menu but none of the options is giving the desired response.

Should I download something extra ??

btw I'm using CCcam 2.2.1 and this is working ok.

Anybody any ideas ???

Maybe there is an other skin for v2.2 that gives the extra information like Satname, Transponder, Encryption etc. in the infobar ??

Thanks in advance, Tom

Good to know that I have not messed up my image upgrade, look forward to the fix, and thanks for the update.

Anyone tried MORE than two tuners?

Hi, I just wanted to ask if the VU+ Duo running VIX 2.2 can support more than one USB dvb-t tuner?

Thanks

Yea, I've been using an Hauppauge Nova TD usb dual tuner. This works well as Tuner C and D. I assume that two separate tuners would also work. You may need to use a powered hub if you have multiple usb devices. My dual tuner (single usb package) works happily with usb power.

I am wondering whether anyone has tried three or four DVB-T tuners? I'm thinking of trying a second dual tuner but would like to hear from anyone who may know what to expect before I make a fruitless investment.

So... has anyone tried more than two tuners?

Since moving over to Vix 2.2, found that my crossepg xmltv downloads no longer work. This may be a change caused by crossepg svn 305? Anyhow, I was able to get around the problem by using xmltv epg importer (touched by AndyBlac/Vix). This uses python rather than C and is a little slower... but it does work (thanks team)!

I am curious to know whether others have had any problems downloading xmltv files using this latest version of crossepg that comes standard in Vix 2.2?

cheers

I personally haven't used xmltv in crossepg. However, I do have xepgdb and opentv working perfectly fine in crossepg... Can you try that and post whether it works for you?

There is a limit to the number of tuners that e2 can handle from what I remember... Not sure how many exactly though. Might only be 4 (since dm8000 was developed with only 4, and not usb dtt in mind back then). However, it could be more?!

The glass hd 16 skin shows that info but it isnt fully working with vix 2.2 as it isnt made for these boxs i think only for DM but it does the job

Thank's for your reaction.

I'll give the Glass HD16 skin a try as soon as I can spent some more testing time.

btw :
I think I now know were this problem is coming from : the Kerni HD1R2 skin wich I downloaded in the VIX 1.3 version is different from the one I downloaded in the VIX 2.2 version although both have HDR1R2 as version number.

I checked the contents of both images with E2Skinner2.exe and found that the second info-bar is not present in the VIX 2.2 download so I dont think it's an image problem.
I will also check if the VIX 1.3 download will work with the VIX 2.2 image.

Regards, Tom

Hi,

I had the same problem when moving onto 2.1. Before then all my EPG downloads worked flawlessly but when I moved to 2.1 I staterted having problems like failed parsing etc. After a while though they started working fine and they still are now. Infact this is one of the reasons why I'm abit cautious to jump to the next version as I did have atorrid time with the EPG downloads.

XML import took me an age on 2.2 last night, hope the cross epg scheduler worked this morning

Strange that. Mines works fine. I tend to use Satmate 28.2/13e and the xepgdb sources if it helps...

Try creating a swap file in blue button/vix/swap manager. A few people have found creating a swap sorted most problems

Oh defo. I made a 96mb swap file on my usb pen. Made a good difference.
