A question re VIX settings for a motorised dish.

Having locked on to a satellite how is this setting stored?
Exiting from set up the signal is lost.

I need all the help I can get!

As I said, satellite is locked on. 95% on astra 28.2 degs. Using usals.
I can find no way of saving the settings.

Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Tuner configuration, what are your settings?

Can you confirm the dish motor was installed and aligned correctly with Thor 1deg?

The dish is aligned correctly.
The system works perfectly on DB 500.
All I need is how do you store each satellite position.
On the DB500 there is a Green Button to do this.
What is the procedure on the VIX?

Further to the above set you tuner as per the screenshot below: -

Replace the long and latt settings for your area/address.

Then send a set of motorised settings accross using dreamboxedit as the guide i posted. Try Catseyes settings http://www.world-of-satellite.com/s...nigma2-Settings-file-75-East-to-58-West/page5

When you have put in your settings in tuner for the sat, I think it is ok, exit on remote. It should save these settings, before you are presented with another screen to either scan, or go back in to tuner and store another Sats before scanning. Do this for each Sat you want then when you go scan, it can take a while for it to do all the scans. I did just 4 Sats this way and it took over an hour.

once you have a lock on 28 east, in tuner config with the USAL settings set correctly, simply press ok, then exit, ( pressing OK saves your settings )

on the E1 units, like the 500, the save method is more obvious ( green button normally )

This again looks like a mixup between using USALS and storing positions (= non-USALS).
For a ViX image everything works exactly the same as on a DB500, but the fact that you are talking about a green button to save is a clear indication you are mixing things.

For USALS to work properly, you need to make an LNB (let's say LNB # 3) that has the USALS-settings (i.a.w. the screenshot sic showed you some posts ago). Now all you have to do is to assign LNB 3 to all the satellites you want to use with USALS. Storing is done on leaving the menu pressing "OK".

And don't forget: "Storing positions" is not part of any USALS-protocol. It's only used when in DiSEqC 1.2 (without USALS), as all positions of all satellites have to be stored. Using USALS the system "knows" where the satellites are.

btw: better use the "advanced settings": that gives you more control over all the settings.
