[ET9x00] BlackHole ET 1.6.5 hangs during restart - hdd problem ?

Hello all, as it's my first post on forum (hope it's in the right place).

After flashing to 1.6.5 everythig works fine except hdd after device restart. I've initialized it, checked filesystem works ok until full reset. When doing reset via menu device hangs. After powering off / on the filesystem is damaged (info shows -1MB free space), sometimes checking filesystem again fixes error, sometimes not (initialization solves this issue, until next reboot).

I'm using WDC 2TB disk, identified as WDC WD20EARS-00M in system info. This hdd is not listed as compatible with clarktech BUT it's working fine and stable with newest PLI and ViX images.

My guess is that problem is with flushing hdd cache or mediatomb / epg write down & unload on restart - it has 64MB of cache memory. If You could write some script for me to check it - like stop/unload epg, wait and then stop/unload mediatomb, wait and then flush hdd cache and after that finaly reset device - I'd check it... If You did any "shortcuts" doing menu reset from ViX or pli included commands - please let me know.

I'd be very happy using BlackHole image, because of mediatomb and epg working fine, but I can't
If You have any idea how to solve or investigate this issue - please help.

P.S. One more newbie question: Is there any tool to backup / restore / organize booquets for ET9000 ? Web booquet editor seems to be dissapeared in blackhole ???

so sorry I cant offer surport, others might be able to offer surport, the one guy I know that can help, is on holiday at present
if it was a VIX image, there would be plenty of help

I was ok with ViX image. Had problems with EPG crashes, but I really need Mediatomb - I'm to short to compile and install it with all dependencies from external .
I'll be very happy to have ViX again if You'll fix epg and put mediatomb inside.

My problem is that I choose ET9000 to have DLNA server in home without adding too much devices, and to have my recordings available in other rooms, and I can't make it work from quite a long time .

Now I'm running latest pli, before I tried ViX and Blackole. ViX has no working upnp (because of problems with earlier pli images, it's not ViX team problem...) and epg issues. Latest pli has it fixed, epg and upnp are working stable BUT upnp is not working with rest of my AV equipment. Mediatomb works fine, so I need mediatomb.

Blackhole has mediatomb onboard, but hangs on reboot destroying hdd filesystem. Having "filesystem check" for 2TB drive on every restart is quite stupid solution, so, could anyone help me to:

- install mediatomb on pli ???; OR:
- howto fix epg AND install mediatomb on ViX ???; OR:
- fix blackhole not to hang on every restart ???; OR:
- is there anyone able to compile mediatomb ipk for ET9000 from sources ? With dependencies ? I can even open telnet for my ET9000 to do that, and I'm ok to pay a bit for such help... OR:
- any other constructive ideas for above situation ???

Actually from what I remember, I think it was andy that fixed the upnp problem, and pli have just took the fix and plastered it as their own, like many other fixes andy makes... Just because we don't have a nightly build doesn't mean that nothing is going on

Also, I believe that there is a new offering built in to vix to allow dlna in the next image, but I haven't got any dlna shares to test myself, so maybe someone can confirm.

And before you ask, 2.3 will be released when it's released

It's sure You're right - pli took Your genius solution and put it as their own. BUT - sorry - that is not what I've asked for...

No offence, but please - keep in track with issue, no political marketing between developers teams... It's simple End-User question: HOW TO MAKE IT WORK ????

EDIT: If You have any usable alpha/beta version of Your next mediatomb including image I'll be very happy to test & report it for You... I'm bit familiar to IT development, not too much with linux unfortunately...

please dont think i'm insulting you or palming you off but we have many many things to do behind the scenes within the VIX image and where possible we will always help users with problems but we cant just drop every thing else for one person.

BUT I think, that my problem is some minor & easy to fix issue in blackhole image, and that's my way to find contact to BH developers - I'll be happy to achieve this, don't know any other way to do that.

I'm only (L)user. Saw ET9000 Blackhole image & took it. Works great but hangs on reset. How to fix it ???

Dato, I'm afraid your missing the point here. This Blackhole image was NEVER created for the ET9000, its a hacked image by someone made to run on the ET9000, Blackhole only build images for the VU+ receivers and I very much doubt that they will offer any support.

Ok Boss. So please make any advise on howto fix epg crashes and make mediatomb working on Vix image. I think ViX is more that fine, but can't use it because of that 2 small issues.
When I reported EPG issue had an answer that I'm using an old module. I was upgrading software every day (maybe it was not working ?) from menu, don't know how to make manual upgrade for every module...
I need mediatomb because it's working with my other AV/TV sets - ushare don't.

Any idea / beta image to try - I'll be happy to test & become faithful ViX user from now till Your retirement ;-) we can test it today, I'm not sleepy, can test it whole night...

Really need help here, not empty discussion about different images and support quality between them...

EDIT: And please do not forget that I wrote it clearly: ushare (mistake was "upnp") module problem was pli (not vix) problem. And it has been fixed in new pli image. I don't know who has fixed it, believe that was "Andy" - thank You Andy - but ushare doesn't wor for me... I (unfortunately) still need mediatomb :-(

Have you tried enigma2-plugin-extensions-mediatomb-vu_0.9-r1

its been modified to work on a Duo worth a try on a et9000 most E2 plugins work on Vix
